Not bad at all. Robocop and Liberty Valance are also in my top 100. Jackal is very good too, leagues better than its supposed remake. And although Rublev is probably the best Tarkovsky I have seen, it's nowhere near my top 100.

Actually, I wish Joseba would continue with posting them one by one with comments to each film...only doing it a bit faster :)

I must say I have never been a big fan of Conan...

I own Close Encounters Of The Third Kind for a long time now, but still haven't seen it...

Robocop is great...best of your picks so far.

10 per day with posters and comments would be an ok pace. I also prefer to see at least a small comment and not just a list of titles.

Yep, that seems good way. Only really faster. ;)

And great batch...haven't seen Z or Andrei Rublev, but rest are pretty great. Sweet Irma was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

Whenever you have the free time to watch your next movie, watch it. It's Spielberg's most underrated film.

Not really sure who is underrating it...?

1941, now that's Spielbergs most underrated movie. :-p

Yea, up there with Hook, though Close Encounters is an honest to God great film, while Hook is just magic filmmaking at its finest.

I've been tuning my list for the last week now and Im suprised how many favorites of mine couldnt make it onto the list. 100 is just too dam small in my opinion. And I agree, pretty much 100-20 is pretty much unrankable, its just kind of where I remember films along the way and can switch a few films I know I like more.

I think it's underrated in the sense that it's mostly forgotten in the shuffle of his other great films. If you ask a regular film fan to name their five favorite Spielberg films, I guarantee that most don't have it on their list.

As for 1941, I love the film, but I can't help but feeling that's one film Spielberg ignores on his imaginary resume.

Magic fimmaking without any magic. To me 'Hook' is one of Spielberg's poorest works.

Robocop is a solid idea, like Highlander that was never fully appreciated. For that it gets good points for me, but I still think its pretty solid.

Some good choices there, definitely less of a mainstream list here, but some pretty good movies here, I like them, but Im not sure I could call them favorites.

I think there are plenty of films that may be better films than the ones on my list, so I give you respect for having much more mature tastes.

Saw it years ago. Found it just OK.
#89: The Fury (USA 1978); Dir. Brian De Palma
As you saw with my list, I also like De Palma. Good movie, although I have other favorites of his.

#88: McCabe & Mrs. Miller (USA 1971); Dir. Robert Altman
One of the best Altmans, but I prefer the Long Goodbye from that period.

#87: Aguirre, The Wrath of God (Germany 1972); Dir. Werner Herzog
Need to see it again, Kinski is magnificent, but I found the movie so-so.

#86: Bringing Up Baby (USA 1938); Dir. Howard Hawks
Good classic comedy. I like comedy, but I think no comedy made it in my top 100.

#85: Monkey Business (USA 1931); Dir. Norman Z. McLeod
See comment for Bringing Up Baby.

#84: Il Conformista (Italy 1970); Dir. Bernardo Bertolucci
Haven't seen it.

#83: The Night Of The Living Dead (USA 1968); Dir. George Andrew Romero
Good one.

#82: Les Diaboliques (France 1955); Dir. Henri-Georges Clouzot
Great one.

#81: Bad Boy Bubby (Australia 1993); Dir. Rolf de Heer
Haven't heard about this one.

Joseba's List, Day 8, only 20 in. At this rate we're looking at Mid June for it to end. 10 every 4 days.

Get the list ready, Kypade. You may have to start sooner than expected.
