Unfortunately it's not that great.

This is especially disappointing for a guy like me to admit -- a guy who put Judd Apatow's 40YOV on his annual top ten list.

Now don't get me wrong... I laughed a lot. There's some very funny scenes in this movie. But the problem is, that the movie is hung on a very shaky story frame that sadly depends on it's heartwarmingness for it's strength, instead of the right way -- vica versa.

The girl, I don't know, but my TV friends say she's fine. She certainly looks it, but doesn't develop any kinda serious chemistry with the guy (only dimly remember him from last year's 40YOV), except for a couple pasted in scenes. The friends were funny but wore their welcome out (just as they would in TRW), the sister and her husband were "cute", the rest of the cameos were "in", the whole thing was... earnest. Damnit, that's twice this week! (...after Once.)

So, as per my philosophy that any comedy movie that makes me laugh out loud is a good comedy -- this is a good comedy. But, Apatow is going to have to focus on the craziness and lay off the laziness when it comes to scripts. Not that I can't imagine the opportunities that have been laid before him after his recent successes, but the guy's a real talent -- he doesn't need to waste his time on schmaltz like this...

Excellent.I'll need anotherviewing to know if it tops 40 Year-Old Virgin, but it's close. Probably the best move all year. Lots of good quotes - I just need another chance to hear them all to quote them myself.

First A+ of the year and the first comedy like this to enter my Top 10 of all time, some people will love it but not as much as I did, I loved it so much more. This zooms past Virgin becaue its more complete, better message, even funnier first half..and as a whole it was great, and the supporting cast was even better, I mean Leslie Mann was hilarious..Its really quoteable and delievered everything just really well, loved it.

But totally agree, this is a frat pack classic and Giant summer date movie for the record books. You have the Expected Rogen/Hiegl dynamic, but you also have huge frat pack moments between Rogen and Paul Rudd's character. The appearence of Frat Packer friends such as Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill among others is a added bonus.

This movie gets a A grade from me, and is a instant frat pack classic.

If only all you people would see Waitress. Don't get me wrong, they're both fantastic films (#1 and #2 of the year for me, actually).

Waitress was number one for me until i saw KU. I love em both.

This was definitely a funny movie. Some scenes were very awkward, but overall, it was a very enjoyable movie. Every scene with Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd together was great. The best line was "You look like a cholo on Easter." The things I didn't like were how unrealistic the movie was. There is no way this girl would have the baby of a guy she just met, who is an illegal alien, and has $141.

I saw Waitress and loved that too. But I have to give the edge to Knocked Up.

Funniest scene in the movie is the Doc Brown/ Delorean scene with all of them sitting at the table. I almsot choked.

Knocked Up is a very good movie and easily the most mature movie to come from the "Frat Pack" (Can't there be a new name?) bunch. As a matter of fact, I'm guessing in a couple of years I will really love this film - as much as Virgin. That saying, I don't think I can appreciate as much as some people can because of how old I am. I'm obviously old enough to appreciate what was going on and what Apatow was trying to do, but I couldn't fully 100% relate to the characters.

That saying, I'd say it's about as loveable as Virgin was and probably more heartfelt since I think this was a very personal story for Apatow and company. It comes across on screen. It's also hilarious. The entire mushroom sequence including when Rudd was analyzing the chairs was great.

I'm definetly seeing this again when I have the chance and maybe then I can bump up the grade one more notch, but for now it gets a solid......

The funniest film since Little Miss Sunshine, and if we just count this type of R-rated comedy, the funniest I've ever seen. It's not easy to be both raunchy and sweet at the same time and get the feel/balance right, but the film did just that. There are truly a few "they didn't just go there" type of moments. A-/A.

Utterly fantastic flick. This film is GUTBUSTINGLY HILARIOUS- easily the funniest movie since "Anchorman" back three years ago.

I laughed very, very hard during so many scenes- the club scene, the pregnant sex scene, the Paul Rudd comparing chairs scene- you name it! Every scene was so well thought out and perfectly planned out by writer/director Judd Apatow and the rest of the brilliantly talented cast and crew. I really need to see his highly praised directorial debut, "The 40 Year Old Virgin" now. The acting was all top-notch- Seth Rogen (Ben, the slacker father) is a fucking laugh riot, Katherine Heigl (Alison, the unplanned mother and entertainment journalist!!!) is wonderful and adorable and Paul Rudd is the comedic genius that he always has been (remember him as Brian Fantana?)

Ben's stoner buddies and their rapport is priceless because not only they do have very funny dialogue, but it's rife with movie references, which is awesome for a movie buff like me.

There are also many celebrity cameos throughout the film, three of them in particular are amazing. I won't spoil them for you- you need to experience the glory of them for yourself.

"Knocked Up" is the funniest movie of the year, the best movie of the summer and the greatest movie of the year so far. You do not want to miss this movie in the theater- you have to see it now. Trust me, you'll love it. A

Had to laugh at the suggestions in the Awards forum that the Knocked Up screenplay be nominated for an Academy Award!

The only great writing in this film is the joke writing -- there's some hilarious stuff. But the overall story is not going to hold up to long-term scrutiny. It's really quite trite, and only masquerades as having heart through crass emotional manipulation. Watch this one in five years and tell me I'm wrong...
