Pushing Daises, I predict, will be the best new show of the fall (well, that or the Palladino thing). I'm so glad they picked it up. Great high concept. And Kristin Chenoweth to boot. It won't last long.

I'm so pissed about this. I mean, every review has said the Cavemen is supposed to be the worst comedy in years, yet they picked that up over comedy gold that is guaranteed from Hurwitz?

Is ABC TV run by a woman? Because they often act like they couldn't care less about attracting male viewers.

I guess Life on Mars was a no go. Shame.

Ack I was so looking forward to that. It seemed like the type that might crossover the atlantic with it's core good aspects intact.

Although they'd have had a hard time finding a replacement for the girl in the UK version who, as Snrub delicately put it, was cute despite being a tubbo.

I've heard raves and raves about Pushing Daisies, so that could be good.

I would be mixed on Women's Murder Club. I've actually read most of the novels in that series by James Patterson (I'm assuming Lindsay Boxer would be the main character of the program like she is in the books?) The problem with the books is that they're very, very, VERY lightweight and easy to read. I can't imagine how they could make a rewarding TV show out of them.

Well, they pushed it to midseason, so I don't know, maybe they will still pick it up. The official schedule isn't announced until tomorrow, after all.

As much as I loved the British version (it's one of the few British dramas I've ever even properly watched, let alone enjoyed), I couldn't help but dream of what you yanks could've done with it's central premise. Cop from 2007 gets knocked over, wakes up in Streets of San Francisco era 70s. It could've been fucking awesome.

Until ABC completely ruined it by making it last 7 seasons.

Unless the original creators insisted (ala Lost) on a set end-point. Truthfully, there's every chance the American version could suck. But The Office (US) has shown that, given the right care and talent, American TV can improve on an already pretty great British format.

You guys are forgetting who is making the new Life on Mars. DAVID E. KELLEY. Be glad it could be dead.

Although, I suspect its still in contention for midseason. Kelley shows rarely go away without getting on the air somewhere, however briefly.

I did read somewhere (forgot where) that Pushing Daisies is one of, if not the best pilot for this upcoming season.

I hadn't heard about it until this morning. But I was immediately taken.

Oh, I would love it for a while, I'm sure. But even with Lost, there is definitely an argument that it has gone on too long. The British series was 16 episodes, not even a whole season here. That's part of why it worked so well.

YAY Lee Pace was the "girl" in Soldier's Girl.

I need to retract that statement about 'the Palladino thing.' Apparently, its a multi-camera (!) comedy. So, really, the best we can hope for is that its pretty good.

But CBS has, for once, something that sounds really awesome, and they're billing it as a musical. I'm intrigued.

Want to know why I won't be watching, other than the horrible drop in quality in the past couple of years of Gilmore Girls? Including while she was there? Go check out the Best/Worst Series Finale thread. Guess who was a writer/producer for Roseanne? So that's two shows she's been involved with that had horrible horrible endings.
