Cooper had such disregard for his own life because he figured he was already dead, that seemed pretty clear to me.

Anyways, it was a fantastic episode, although even if someone hadn't guessed that Locke's dad = the real Sawyer weeks ago, I still think it would've been pretty apparent from the moment Locke tells Sawyer to come with him. By the way what happened before the first flashback, I walked in right as Locke threw a book into a campfire.

Actually, there has been open speculation that Cooper was Sawyer ever since... 1x19 Deus Ex Machina.

Great. Fucking. Episode.

If the the rest of the season maintain this high (and next week's episode looks like that's not problem), I will officially embrace the first 6 episodes and call this the best season of Lost. In 3 months they have turned my feelings about the show from complete apathy to once again, the best damn thing on TV.

I think the payoffs in this episode were quite huge for long-time viewers.

Yeah, it really annoyed me how Kate just came back and told Jack everything. But what was more interesting was what Juliet and Jack are planning now. I don't think Juliet has told Jack that she's a mole so it must be something else... maybe a plan to get off the island?

Ben telling John, "Don't tell me what I can't do" was just priceless!!

Another good episode. About the Kate thing, at first I had the same reaction, what a moron. But on thinking about it, is it possible that Sayid came up with some plan and that she went there to tell him stuff with their approval? Some sort of trap or something. Maybe to test how Jack will react.

I do think there's more to it because it was just laughable that she went and told Jack like RIGHT after hearing about it. Plus, remember we thought the writers were being sloppy with Locke but it all served a purpose and he turned out not to be making dumb decisions.

On another note.... I must say that the past 12 weeks have gone by extremely fast. I think returning next year in January is the best thing to do at this point. I just hope they can keep this momentum going up until the very end. And I'm very much leaning towards preferring the 5th season being the last (which would give the show roughly 120 episodes).

That was a very good episode. Looks like it's going to be an all out war at the end of the season.

Kate spilling the beans was extremely idiotic. Especially since the last time we saw her ends with Sayid saying "can you keep a secret?" Apparently, no. I kinda hope that Jack and Juliet have their own secret plan against Ben, hence that incredibly suspicious exchange, but frankly it's looking more and more like Jack and Juliet are in cahoots and planning to take the babies back to the others.

Also, does anyone know where I can see the preview for next week's episode online?

They didn't show what Sayid said to her for a reason, so we'd mistakenly think that Kate was doing something Sayid didn't want her to do. I avoid spoilers for this show, that's just a guess.

Well that one easily the best episode of the season and possibly of the entire series for me. Glad to see Sawyer finally get to kill the real Sawyer. Locke and Desmond are far and away the best chraracters on the show. The last couple of episodes have really been amazing and this is turning out to be my favorite season. The next couple of episodes look awesome with the camp going after Juliet/Jack.

Someone was tied up (making audience think it was Ben, not Cooper), and Locke seeemed to be reading his own file or Sawyer's file. That's it.

Very good episode once again

Rousseau is clearly blowing something up, I don't think they threw that in there for comedic purposes. I think its the sonic wave security machines and I think she is going after Alex alone.

Ben continues his awesome manipulation streak. I'm 90% sure right now that Locke taking the tape deck and using it to out Juliet was his plan all along, and maybe even she was in on it. "He makes it seem like your idea, when its really his"... at this point I have to assume everything that's happened with Ben is completley his plan, except maybe getting captured.

Dang very nice calls. I'd be surprised if you were wrong. Good thinking!

Nah, that was part of the plan too.

No way he'd be walking alone near the Losties and have the Henry Gale details on plan. He may have underestimated what they would do to him, but he knew it wouldn't be pleasant.

I would not be opposed to that at all. I just hope they get through 2. From the beginning I couldn't see how the show would go on for that long. Well, now I know how they stretch the series, by doing flashbacks and having little revalations throughout a season, but using that formula to stretch it for 8 seasons just would not work at all. No one would be watching it.

2 more seasons would be fine and pushing it in January and to an earlier time would be the best.

Three more seasons, sixteen episodes each. Brilliant news.

That is excellent news.

That's essentially 2 full seasons (24 x 2).

It means we're (at this point) 56% through the series ;)

Better news is that the creative team (who say it's all mapped out! again!) will be there through the end.

Hmmm... I'm not so keen about the shorter season idea. That means we are going to have to wait until February every year from now on.

I am glad, though, that it's 48 more episodes... which still seems alot for some reason.

Im not sure the show can last 3 more seasons (ratings wise). I would rather them make it 2 more seasons with 24 episodes.

Great news, it means they can go straight through from February to May each year with no big hiatuses. It also means that they have the absolute end mapped out, so every episode contributes to the whole.
