I'm going to take a short break after this one, and I'll continue later on tonight.
90. Rocky Balboa (2006)
This is the first of at least three controversial choices on my list. So why is the film on this list? Well, because of one quote from the film. I watched the film the first time in theaters and my head didn't quite compute the quote. I heard it again on DVD recently and that's when I got what Stallone was going for with this film. And I don't care how corny it is, it works perfectly.
"What is it that you said to the kid? It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward."
That in essence is the character of Rocky and what makes him so special. And yes, you'll see him again on this list.

Shaun is a great pick, but it should be much higher.
Good list so far, though.

89. Sin City (2005)
Before there was Frank Miller's 300, there was Frank Miller's Sin City. It's a much more enjoyable visually, plot wise and acted than 300 ever dreamed it could be.

88. Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Everything that was wrong about the first film is corrected in the second one. First the special effects were much better. The scene between Doc Ock and Spidey on the train is amazing to look at. Second, the plot is more developed. Third, it's not as corny as the first one was. Doc Ock is a substantial improvement over the Green Goblin. Just as ludicrous? Yes. The difference lies in the performances though and the fact is, I thought Molina was better than Dafoe. It's just a much better film than the original.

87. High Fidelity (2000)
John Cusack has delivered many great performances in many different films. High Fidelity features his best. It's a solid film from beginning to end.

Thanks for the comments thus far everyone. I know I'm going to piss most of you off on at least one of them, but hopefully it'll keep up.

86. Kingpin (1996)
One word can describe Kingpin. Underrated. Following Dumb & Dumber, I could see how this easily got lost in the shuffle, but this is a very good film. And then there is Bill Murray. He is absolutely brilliant in this film. The charity video featuring Ernie that Roy watches at the bar is hilarious. And with the hair-off at the end.........
The film is fantastic.

85. Robocop (1987): Referring to X-Rated Cut
Christ this is a brutal film, but that's why it works so well. When Murphy is blown to bits at the beginning, you feel for him. And the ironic thing is we've only known him as a character for about 15 mintues. After what happens to him, we want to see the bad guys get the bejesus blown out of them and boy do they ever. Toxic waste? Knife through the chin? Then of course there is that scene in the boardroom featuring ED-209. It's so gratuitously violent that it's hilarious.

84. Escape From New York (1981)
Escape From New York is proof that less is more. With a bigger budget, Carpenter went on to make Escape From L.A., but there is a certain quality missing from that film. Heart. While Carpenter and Russell must have had a great time making that film, that's really what ends up in the final cut. That's not a bad thing seeing as that film's enjoyable, but that's the difference between NY and LA. I'm also a sucker for movie themes, and Carpetener's main theme for NY is brilliant. It gave the film the dark, futuristic tone the film needed and set the tone for the rest of the film. The star of the film of course though is Russell's performance as Plissken. He is an absolute badass.
Two final words on the film: Adrienne Barbeau
Did she even speak during the film? I couldn't tell.

83. Analyze This (1999)
Harold Ramis Movie # 1
Should it be any coincidence that Harold Ramis of Stripes, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day fame, directed this? This is one of many great films that Ramis has been involved with, and a few more will show up on this list.

82. Slap Shot (1977)
I think the one thing people forget about this movie is not that it's a comedy, but a very dark comedy. It's an extremely dark comedy. The whole plot is about a team that's going out of business who is lead by a player/coach, who is basically a bum, who has never been a real winner, who must rely on the three goons to give his whole team a fighting image because they suck at hockey. And it's not like they pull a "Major League" and turn it around. They suck from beginning to end. That saying, the film is very funny, and at the time, actually predicted where hockey was heading, until it was revamped. Not to get too heavyhanded though, the film is very funny and that's what matters. And a kickass soundtrack to boot.

81. Stranger than Fiction (2006)
The first time I saw this film it was in theaters and I enjoyed it very much. The second time I saw it I loved it. Once again, the cynics can disagree with me, but I love the message behind the film and it's a very simple one. Live your life. That's the point of the movie and it gets it across very well. To add onto it though, the film is funny in a subtle way. I also believe this is Will Ferrell's most complete performance to date. In addition to being very funny in the film, he handles the dramatic scenes very nicely, especially considering this was his first somewhat dramatic film. And then just look at that supporting cast. I believe the film was a hidden gem last year lost in the shuffle of the winter films. Hopefully it'll have a long life on DVD.

Last film of the night...........
80. The Naked Gun (1988)
I watched this again on DVD recently and I have to say that I laughed more during the first five minutes than during most comedies released in recent years. There are just so many brilliant gags in this film that it's unbelievable. Easily one of the best comedies ever made.
On a side note, I know there is no chance in hell of this happening, but I would love it if Zucker and Nielsen would team up again to make a 4th. They worked together on the Scary Movie films, so why not another one? Who cares if he's 81? He still seems limber.

Lost count about who's turn it is, and not in mood to check many many pages of thread...this ok?
46. Joseba B-Loki
47. kypade
48. thegun
49. trixster
50. Dr. Lecter
51. Argos

kypade has an introduction of sorts, but didn't start actual list. As for Joseba, after jmart finishes, we wait 5-6 hours, and next in line goes?

Robocop, Escape from NY. Great choices, although Robocop is some 80 places too low.
Rest, not a fan.
Quite a comedy fan, eh?
