I guess I'm in the minority here b/c I thought this espisode was one the worst I have ever seen from Lost. I thought last week's was the best episode and had season finale type of feel to it it was so good. But this weeks was pure filler it seemed to me. The producers wrote these two characters into the show to give them an episode where they die. My roomates and I kept saying, why do we even care if they die?? To me, all the great momentum Lost had going for was on the other side of the island with Locke and Ben and the look Jack gave Locke at the end of the episode. Honestly, other than Desmond, the the rest of the survivors could all die and I really wouldn't care. This episode could be cut out entirely from the series and you wouldn't miss a thing. Now I haven't read any spoilers so maybe they bring this back to mean something. Otherwise I want to know whats going on with the great storyline they introduced with the "magic box" and Locke's Dad.
I don't mean to sound negative, but it left me really dissapointed.

I think the main reason I enjoyed Wednesday's episode so much was because it was so disconnected from everything else and was way more standalone than anything else. It almost felt like...a different show, another perspective, a break away from Lost's (admittedly enjoyable) formula.
I really love stories that have creepy, ironic endings, and Wednesday's episode was like Hitchcock/The Twilight Zone/whatever. I just thought it was a lot of fun in a way much different from other Lost episodes.

I really think that was one of my favorite episodes.
And it was far from filler. We found out who Nikki and Paolo are, which I know doesn't interest many. But, Sun also found out who kidnapped her, and who orchestrated the plan.
If you want to define filler in your own way, be my guest. But in the traditional sense, it was not filler. Just because we didn't get more answers from the other part of the show, doesn't mean we didn't get any answers at all. The show still progressed.

so nothing with Locke. I was hoping he would get somthing. Also on his father, what was the point of him showing up at the end of the episode. I could see if Ben used the father earlier on Locke but we seemed to find out Locke did what Ben wanted, so what was the point of Ben showing Locke the father; maybe just a reward? ( I also like how Locke said, I am not looking for Jack, I want the sub.)

My goodness, another Desmond episode? He's not that great. Anyway, I heard Nathan Fillion returns in Kate's episode. He's cute so yay.

The Ben flashbacks could be the most interesting. I really want to know who he is and where he came from.

I really hope they keep this momentum going. I'm so happy we're getting a Kate episode next, followed by Juliet. Awesomeness!!!

Okay, just boredom strolling, and I cannot help it.
JACK?!?!?!?!
He is a huge part of the reason why I stopped watching the show. Jack is such an amazingly annoying, aggravating, and all kinds of other bad adjectives guy.
I wonder what the yet-another Jack flashback will be about, maybe that he has trouble giving up on things? They haven't really explored that part of his character much, have they?

jack is the most complex character on the show by far. He's forced to be a leader and is looked up to when his whole life he's tried to blame everything on everyone else and now he only has himself to blame if something goes wrong. The dude is great.

We're going back to some very core issues that Sawyer has dealt with since the very beginning of the show and the exploration of that should bring him some nice surprises. He will definitely have a very interesting trek with Locke."

Cause Jack's flashbacks are more important.
We still haven't found out why he likes the 5 o'clock shadow look.

Yeah, that sounds really great.
I'm loving this season so far.

Since Locke's dad is most likely Mr. Sawyer, the surprise is probably closure to that chapter in his life. Only question is whether Locke will kill him, Sawyer will kill him, or whether his appearance is leading into something bigger and better.

In my opinion, it serves the show and the characters best if Locke kills him and Sawyer refuses to. Locke's calm and cool has been slowly breaking down since the plane crashed and Sawyer is learning that the death toll comes at a price.
Then again, I see Locke as the primary villian of the show so...

Sawyer has only had 4 flashbacks thus far, only one in Season 2. It would bother me more of Sawyer had less to do this season, but he's actually been a featured of a ton of episodes this year (like 3 of the first 6, Tricia Tanaka Is Dead, Not in Portland, Expose, and the future Locke episode).
Jack has 3 every year. Kate always has about 2. Locke always has 2. Sun/Jin always have 2.
For Season 4 I'm hoping they give Sayid something more to do honestly. He's one of my favorite characters but he's really underwritten this year.

This was a decent episode...my favorite line was from Sawyer to Claire.
"Your baby has less wrinkles than two weeks ago," and "I don't like...blankets."

I enjoyed the episode. I guess we know why those fences are up. Next week's episode looks better, I loved Sayid's line. I am not sure what is up with Jullet. Either she is telling the truth or Ben left her behind to spy on them.

I hope she is telling the truth, otherwise I think it would be really easy to spot ANOTHER spy, and would consequently think they are dumb if they don't.

I am still waiting for this episode but something bothers me about the commercial. Kate is told that she broke Jack's heart but in the last episode didn't Jack, who was expecting to be leaving the island, tell Kate that he was coming back from her and then touched her. To me, this seems off but I will see when I watch.
