can't look forward to any hulk adaptation because i think remaking a film 5 years after the first of a 'defunked' franchise is retarded on levels unimaginable.

Even a retelling, I think 2 more years would have helped. They are spending $100 m + on this. They might as well not have a factor like (maybe we should have waited a few more years) to derail this...

My anticipation just skyrocketed. Norton as The Hulk? That's either going to be fantastic or an amazing train wreck. It can't end up somewhere in the middle.

he turned down the dark knight for this!? if they had chosen a better director, then be looking at easily the best year for superhero movies in 2008, even if batman will gross triple what the other 2 do.

WTF, Norton has made some of the best film choices I've ever seen, and rarely does studio picks. I can only imagine what the studio had over him to make this Piece of shit.

Bruce/Hulk is a leading role, Two-Face is 3rd fiddle behind Bats and Joker.
Well I disliked Hulk, but Norton in a big superhero film? It sure has made me interested.

And no, The Illusionist wasn't the much more successful film. In terms of differences of total (Worldwide) and overall budget, The Illusionist wins, but only by $4.5 million. It should also be noted that TI was in theaters about two and a half months longer. My guess is that if both were given the equal amount of release time, they'd be pretty much equal.

I thought this movie was destined to fail utterly and that nothing would change that. Ever. And now this happens. This really shocks me. I consider Edward Norton a terrific actor, but more importantly, he appears to be a very choosy actor and he doesn't do very much. Every time I see another performance of his I keep wishing he did more than he does. Now he's doing The Hulk remake/reboot/whatever. That came totally out of left field. I don't know what to think other than that maybe this new Hulk will end up being better than I thought.
Peace,
Mike.

Indeed. There were times where i was sure the Hulk sequel/restart/whatever would go the direct to video route.
Really, quite a surprising turn of events. This might actually turn out to be something worth watching...

How's this any different than restarting the BATMAN franchise after Joel Schumacher fucked up??? How long was that inbetween his films before Nolan's??? This sounds like damn good casting bringing Norton in..

9 years. not 6. and BnR was the 4th film. so you weren't making the same film again.
the restart (remake) for Batman took 16 years, not 9. this isn't about when the last story in teh franchise was released, its about when the same story was told last time.
its just stupid. Ang Lee's Hulk was a classic though people don't like it which is fine. Just keep going with that franchise, even with new directors and actors. Thats fine. Just don't restart it.

Based on it's piss poor domestic take, Universal Studios and the general concensus feels otherwise.. The HULK had ALOT of potential going for it to be as big as SPIDERMAN if it were done properly and in the end, people just didn't embrace it, so your left with the only other alternative: A Reboot.. And whether it was 9 year or 6 years, the BATMAN franchise hit rock bottom and they knew it to.. Otherwise Schumacher would've done BEGINS, nipples on the batsuit and all..

you once again, bring up completely irrelevant stuff.
it doesn't matter how good the hulk film will be; it'll still bomb cause people won't accept another one. Only the fans will.

I dont think anyone is denying Norton's Talent, I mean any movie is lucky to have him, but its just so crazy that he's the new Hulk, its almost destined to fail.

this wesbite is owned by WB.
ya i said it becasue all here talking crap that hulk will fail are nothing but employees of wb and hence have to support all DC crap. What do u guys have other than superman and batman??? NOTHING!! all are D rate characters whose movies are gonna be utter shit.
how much do u guys get paid for supporting the WB&DC crap??
only WB vertigo comics are good. Superman sucks and batman is watchable but not visually cool.
