I'm not sure how mainstream an opinion this is or not but in Jack's flashback episode a few weeks ago, it was revealed his tattoo means both "walks among them but is not of them" (or close to that) and "Leader". I took that as foreshadowing him becoming leader of the Others over time, so I wasn't too surprised at that end shot though I thought it was effectively done.

Finally saw last weeks episode and I must say it was probably the best of the new season for me. Everything felt right and it was very suspenseful. Also, I had completely forgotten about the Jack/Claire connection so that came as a total shock. I can't wait for this weeks.

I don't know why I never made the connection between Jack being a spinal surgeon and Locke (potentially) having a spinal injury which causes him to be paralyzed. Dibs on the idea that Locke's injury (or whatever) is caused by someone who is on the island.
Not that this is what happens... it just occured to me last week as I watched Season 1 + 2 again.
I would still say that the only extended period of bad to mediocre episodes happens between Live Together Die Alone and Not in Portland.
I still say the single worst episode of the series is The Moth.

I second that. It's either that or Fire + Water. I just really seem to hate Charlie episodes. Good thing he's dying soon!

The second Ben started talking about Locke's dad and how he wanted to stay away from him before he showed the contents of the metaphorical box I knew his dad was there. Still, that didn't stop me from gasping. I also gasped when his dad pushed him through the fucking window. I thought it would turn out that Locke brought it upon himself, so for it to happen in the form of another betrayal by his dad was awesome. And O'Quinn better win the damn Emmy, especially since now they only have to send one episode in.
Best episode of season 3. And season 2. And among the best of any show this season. Fucking phenomenal.

Oh, and next week looks great. Everyone finally finds out about Sawyer and Charlie's long con, and Sun punches Sawyer. I just hope that's how Charlie finally dies, at the hands of an angry mob. That's actually probably the only way they can top this week. Still, I CAN'T WAIT.

I bet only Sun finds out. Charlie could die by Jin's hands but I doubt it. Also I think the person who dies will either be Paulo or Nikki.

So like, did Loyal and bABA stop posting in here because they
A) finally gave up on the show?
B) decided to take our word and stop making repetitive jabs in this thread?
C) don't want to admit the show is back in full form?
D) just forgot about this thread?
I'm thinking A.

It would be nice to think it was B, but it is probably A.

Great episode. I didn't think it could get any better after Locke got pushed out of the fuckin' window, but then his father shows up on the island? Brilliant.
So I guess the man from Tallahassee was Locke's dad?

1. The scene with Danielle looking at Alex was heartbreaking.
2. Jesus! The sub is real! Or was... the Others are going to fall into chaos.
3. Ben knows the island can't be found.
4. Does Ben/Others know HOW Locke was fixed?
5. We perhaps know what Ol' Smokey might be guarding.
6. Holy shit, the window fall. Was this from Hurley's sequence too?!
7. The make-up on Locke was fantastic.
8. Jack sure knows the score well... the music in general for this episode was fantastic.
9. Locke Sr. is soooooooooooooooo totally the real Sawyer. This is going to be a badass scene in a future episode.
10. Okay... the end gave me chills. Jack's father, Kate's horse, Sawyer's Boar, Hurley's Dave, Locke's Father, Eko's Yemi... is it all from "the Magic Box"?

GREAT episode!
As soon as Locke walked into that condo or room with his father, I knew he was going to b pushed out the window. And halfway through, I figured the man from Tallahasee would be Locke's dad too. But none of that really were negatives and didn't take away from the incredibleness of this episode.
I'm of the few who thought that the series' best episodes were in season 2, so I wouldn't be making statements lthat this was best episode since Season 1, but this was by far the best episode of this season and one of the best of the series thus far. The last few episodes have really been picking it up.
The scenes between Locke and Ben were some of the best writing Lost has had. There are just too many thoughts in my head after this episode. I can't seem to focus. And it doesn't help that it's 12am and I have to write a paper before I sleep.
What some posters from above brought up were really interesting...
Is Locke's dad the real Sawyer?
Do all these hallucinations have anything to do with the magic box and does the magic box have anything to do with the black smoke?
Is Ben really Alex's father?
Was what Mikael said about Ben not being the leader true?
What kind of rift are the events in this episode going to create between Locke and the rest of the characters?
Oh and what exactly was this Charlie/Sawyer con?

Last season, episode was called "The Long Con". Charlie kidnapped Sun so that Jack + Locke would fight over using the guns against the Others, giving Sawyer the chance to steal all the guns for himself.

AMAZING episode. The flashback and island story were both equally compelling and exciting. Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson both deserve Emmys because their chemistry was incredible.
Loved Ben's line about "two giant hamsters in our secret liar." LOL The dialogue was all top-notch tonight and we can credit that to Drew Goddard and Jeff Pinkner, the writers of the episode. Great job, guys!
I did not that see that ending coming at all...WTF? How did Locke's Dad get there? I can't wait to find out.
Three great episodes in a row and next week's eppy looks good as well. LOST IS ON A ROLL!

Last night was amazing. Lost is pretty much back.
Next week looks crazy, as well. It's about freaking time Sun finds out Charlie fake-kidnapped her forever ago (I can't believe people forgot about that incident when they defend his character)
I'm also curious what's the deal with Nikki and Paolo that they will become "iconic" or whatever the producers said. The previews indicated I actually could be right about them being Other double agents.

This was easily the best episode of the season. The last couple episodes of Lost have been some of the best of the entire series and I love the way the show is moving now. If you thought Jack was pissed at Locke before, just wait. Last night show gives us a hint at the whole how the island will give you things that Locke was talking about in the past couple of seasons. I wonder if Locke is gonna kill his old man? That would be great.

Interesting episode and it raised a few questions.
Could that man, lets call him Locke's father though I'm not sure that he is, be the real leader of the Others? I don't really automatically believe Ben that he was summoned by some magic box.
Ben said that it was important for him to maintain the illusion that one could leave the island. So isn't it possible that Jack and Juliet were not going to really be allowed to leave, in fact it might have been impossible for them to. And maybe unintentionally Locke saved Jack?
If there is a dock right there in the camp, then the camp borders on water? Yet they said last episode that the fence surrounded the camp. Does that mean part of the fence is underwater? Or just a continuity error.

If you click on that you should be able to see its viewrship history so far this season. All of them, except the last one, are based on actuals.
I've also compiled the same for Betty, Anatomy, housewives, CSI, 24, Heroes, Brothers and Sisters, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Deal or No Deal (Mon), CSI:Miami, CSI:NY, NCIS, Shark, and ER.
I can try to post them all up in a thread of its own after I'm done with finals this weekend.
