Expected drop for 5th Grader. Though I could not believe it actually beat Betty, which dropped to 10 million!

Did October Road do better than Men in Trees? Equal? Worse?
I liked it, but I hope it improves as it goes on.

I'm pretty sure that's the best hold ever for a program airing out of a new Grey's. So, better.
And the show really annoyed me. They put the quirk and melodrama on waaaay too thick.

Hehe, Are You Smarter... beat Ugly Betty in total viewers. That's kind of pathetic for the latter considering it costs way more.

That's also kinda pathetic for the public, considering the latter is actually good.

Jesus! What happened to BETTY? Why in the world did it drop so badly in ratings? I suppose some people weren't aware that it was a new episode since they've been reruns.

Yeah people didn't realize it was new (plus this crazy early Daylight Savings Time).

Maybe people thought it was still airing reruns during the Christmas season.

Actually, those numbers are better than anything 30 Rock has done in the timeslot since... I don't know when. I'm going back as far as I can now. Right now, it's got more viewers than any 30 Rock episode dating back to early January. I guess if the numbers stay this good (which is probably a longshot, unfortunately), it's going to come down to "Emmys vs. Cost". With 30 Rock, they got Emmy potential, but it probably costs a bundle with Alec Baldwin alone. With Andy Barker, it's got a small-name cast (unless you're a fan of "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" and "Arrested Development", like me).
Edit: 30 Rock almost matches Andy Barker on January 4th, but the last episode to beat Andy Barker's numbers was on December 14th. Don't forget that 30 Rock didn't actually start airing in its current 9:30 home until November 30th. If I had to predict, I guess 30 Rock still has a better chance with all the praise it gets. Maybe if I'm lucky, NBC will order up Andy Barker for a second season in midseason.

Kinda low for Grey's Anatomy considering the last fresh episode got 27 million and there was no CSI.
I don't know about other networks, but ABC always seems to kill momentum with their on again off again fresh episodes. I think every serialized show should follow Heroes' pattern.

The thing is, premieres tend to drop in the second week, so if this is the best that can be expected, it's just barely going to meet or beat what 30 Rock has done with that spot. It's a shame, because I also love Arrested Development and And Richter, but with the new rumors that Scrubs may be moving to ABC, maybe they'll pick up both?

Yeah let's celebrate Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader beating out an intelligent, well-written program!
Hooray!
