I'm really liking the direction the show has taken this season.
This particular episode was rather slow and uneventful but nonetheless, pretty satisfying.
Lynette's storyline is great. And I read the pizza place is gonna create even more tension and friction between her and Tom, so I'm hoping they handle that well.
Susan is actually in on a useful plotline now and she aint that bad!
I actually quite enjoyed that last bit between Gabrielle and Carlos. I want them to remain split up for a long time... their chemistry is still pretty awesome... it's starting to reach a different level now.
And MAN did anyone catch Marcia's boobs in the beginning
One look at her face and you can tell she's quite along in the pregnancy. And they started shooting only above the belly already, anyone notice? Apparently, the Orson storyline is gonna build up to something big in February and then she's gonna be gone for a few episode because it was getting too hard to shoot her and hide the prgnancy. that officially sucks (and I hope they didn't change the storyline to that) but oh well... let's enjoy our bree while she's plump, pregnant, and as radiant as ever.

Last night's episode went by far too fast. But it was good, nonetheless.
Bree is so pregnant. Is it just me knwoing she's due or is it becoming so obvious that they're trying to shoot around her because some of my family said they didn't really pick it up till I mentioned it.

Oh yay, new Desperate tonight.
I kind of hope the next few episodes pick up. After that awesome supermarket episode, the subsequent ones have dragged. And Alma is just a freako. I can't say I ever expected to see a woman rape a man on this show.

that the first "to be continued..." episode Housewives has had?
And as far as we're concerned, we still have no confession and no concrete proof that Orson did it.
Alma got old pretty quick. And the Zach-Gabrielle storyline is annoyingly weird and icky.
Can't wait till Marcia Cross is back in full swing.

So does anyone have any leaks as to where the storylines are going? Are Bree and Orson gonna be MIA for the rest of the season?
And OMG how hot is Andrew again? And he's an ass. He needs to be gay again. Maybe he'll hook up with Austin. Yum.
And I agree, Raffi, the Gabrielle-Zack thing is not only annoying and dumb, it really came out of nowhere. Zach never had a crush on Gabrielle before and all of a sudden he's all over her. At least he's still a psycho so that's consistent.
Oh oh.. that also reminds me. Mike was never REALLY a plumber. Wasn't that just a cover for him on Season 1? That's a little bit of a plot hole with the Monique thing no?

Well, ya it was a cover but he did actually do plumbing! It's not like he pretended to go off to work everyday (though we never really saw him go to work )

Mama Hodge makes Crazy Rapist Lady Alma look sane. How many normal people are left on this show, 4 or 5?
Also, I just read that Monique is played by Bird York (as in the Oscar nominee who sang "In the Deep" from Crash). Hmm, you learn something new every day.

Wow...what an episode.
Bree's been getting all the good storylines for the past two seasons, I wonder if this means the writers will move the drama to another housewife for once! lol

I'm assuming that, now that the Orson storyline is pretty much wrapped up, Marcia Cross will be absent for most of the rest of the season because of her pregnancy/maternity leave/etc.

I think the story itself (Mama Hodge druging Bree to murder her, Alma falling out of the window, Orson almost dying, Zack's giant penis) provided enough "umph".

Sunday's episode was great. One of the best so far this season.
And this show has just been renewed for four more seasons. It will be sticking around until 2011.
"Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry has signed a four-year, eight-figure overall deal with ABC Television Studio, reports Variety.
The deal, which keeps Cherry under wraps until May 2011, ensures creative continuity on "Desperate Housewives" through the series' seventh season. The studio has also quietly negotiated deals with all key members of the cast that will keep them on the hit series for at least as long as Cherry is attached.
Cherry said he has no plans to develop projects beyond "Housewives," though if he does, it'll be for ABC Television Studio (ATS). Instead, the writer wants to focus on his current show.
"The studio and the network and I all feel it's best for me to stay glued to the set," he told the trade. "I've got my ship, and I'm gonna run it."
And, if Cherry gets his way, the series will end in 2011 -- the same time his new deal wraps.
"I think that, at the end of my deal, and after seven seasons, it will be a good time to call it quits," he said. "I don't want anyone else to run the show, and I don't want us to fade away."

Yey, I love this latest season. If they can somehow keep the quality as high as this one, well, then, that'd be great.
The last episode has been fantastic. Surprising that they wrapped up Orson's storyline and I think they did the right thing really. It would have dragged if it had gone on much longer. I'm interested to see how they will go with the rest of the season. Will the creepy pedophile return? Or will there be a new mystery carrying on to the next season? Can't wait.

Does anyone feel that they took Orson in a direction different than originally intended though? It seems like they are now trying to portray him as this caring husband incapable of murder etc. and it seems like they won't even address the fact that he did try to kill Mike during last year's season finale. I do like his character regardless but I think I would have liked evil Orson better.

I sorta agreed and was thinking the same thing. But then, it made more sense when they made Alma and the mother the crazy ones. It keeps with the "desparate housewives" theme of the show. Too many men subplots could ruin the show.
There really shouldn't be any men. But then again, that would turn it into the L Word. And Andrew wouldn't be around. nevermind, we like the men. but keep the craziness to the women.

Not really.
I think they definitely tweaked the storyline and probably changed some minor maybe major aspects of it to accomodate Marcia Cross's pregnancy (assuming that the arc is, for now, over) but I think it was always their aim to have Orson come out clean and leave him on the show. I don't think they intended Orson to have the same fate as the Applewhites. Keeping him with Bree is a great idea and something I think they considered pretty early on.
that's just my take on it though.
So, when can we expect no more Marcia Cross?

They did scrap the character that Orson visited during the last moments of Season 2 (Cherry admitted) so there was some tweaking already from last year.

That's right.... or did they?
I'm actually surprised it didn't come up before like Bree asking him.

Apparently, tonight is (finally) not narrated by Mary Alice, but by Rex Van De Kamp (?)
I kind of miss the character of Rex, I still think the show made a big mistake killing him off (remember Bree's insanely awesome speech in the hospital after he had his heart attack? stuff like that could've continued).

Ugh, I hated Rex. I wish they had killed Andrew off too, but at least the writters have made him somewhat bareable lately.
