The BLACK X-MAS 1 Day Prediction Thread For Dec 25th Only..
I'll never stop until I conclude the year with at least 1 box office prediction right.. I mean, I have to make up for the Charlotte's Web blunder(which is still shocking to me ) so I figured, let's try our hand at DIMENSION'S Rape, er, I mean Remake of the 1974 Horror Classic BLACK CHRISTMAS titled BLACK X-MAS so DIMENSION makes certain we can differentiate between the 2 as though that was gonna be hard.. The question I now pose before making this year end prediction: Are there people sick and twisted enough to throwdown good $$$ to see this on what's supposed to be a feel good holiday of the year?? I would have to say that there are some, so on that note, I'm gonna predict BLACK X-MAS On Christmas Day when it opens will gross 2 Million.. Is that sound about right or you think more???

2.5 million. A "mini-Omen" opening with its tie-in to the day. I really don't think anyone outside of uptight Christian groups is going to be offended by the release of a horror movie on Christmas, even one having to do with the day itself. Teens will go and see it along with those slightly older (like me).

I think any higher than 4 Million would have to be deemed unbelievably good for something like this.. It would also upset the uptight Christian Groups to..

I say $2.5 million is a logical prediction.

$2 million sounds about right in 1,000 theaters.

I dunno, I'm going with $4 million simply because I've been assaulted with ads. I actually think it looks like a gorgeous film cinematography-wise. Too bad it's such a stinker.

Looks a lot better than Wolf Creek, but the theater count certainly lacks confidence. I'll go with $3M.

1,749. Black Christmas should fare better despite opening in fewer theaters.

Anyone have any thoughts on this movie before it opens in like 1 day??? Do any of you plan on seeing it on Christmas Day or will you wait for the following weekend??

I live in the Uk, so it was released here on the 15th.
Seen it last night, to a packed audience.
thats why i think this movie should have opened in the run up to xmas.
Anyway, it was a fun, by-the-numbers slasher film.
Enjoyable, jumpy and very very fast paced.
Theres no dragging, there are like 12 deaths in this movie.
each one, decidedly gruesome.
I rekon $2,000,000 opening day.

I completely agree with you now. This will be a bomb, and it may not have been if it was released last weekend.

At the mall multiplex in Annapolis, MD, this is only playing twice a day, no afternoon showings. Curious.

That's what I'm predicting. BLACK CHRISTMAS should do really well on Christmas. The gimmick will work perfectly for it. I can't see less than 3 Million opening day.

I don't believe awareness is high enough for the gimmick to be perfectly successful.

No way. Wolf Creek was great and one of the year's very best horror films. No way could this come even close to being as good. I still want to see it though and plan on going in the next week.

If such behavior is widespread, it's definitely going to hurt the film financially (obviously).
On another note, I wonder if we'll be waiting an entire year for the DVD to be released?
