Heh I didn't figure this episode would be the be all to end all of all episodes, which might be why it was absolutely one of my favorites. My friend who was watching the show for the first time with me also reallly liked it and wants to start watching the show now, something that didn't work with Lost.

As for the episode itself, there were so many great things that happened. I'm really glad that characters are starting to come together, should mean less and less storylines until most of them are eventually united (I expect a few to die between now and the end of the season, some will also probably be on opposing sides.) Even though I had figured it out a few episodes ago it was neat to see the treacherous-but-not-entirely-evil henchwoman's powers. Plus they CAPTURED Sylar, now that's something I didn't see coming. The cheerleader really is something of a revelation, and yeah, while I've been impressed with the amount of gore this show has gotten away with up until now I'm realllly surprised they were able to have that death onscreen. Kinda ironic she got killed for saying she was the hero. Also, the ending has me really excited. DL and Niki's storyline... Man I hope he has the bullet go through him. She's not an interesting villian, she's just annoying and cliche.

Well,

To be fair ... the whole show is one giant ball of cliches, but it works because they ground each character with background and unique character development. That and it is pretty much a comic book TV show, so you expect it to be cliche and should be OK with that. I know I am.

Well yeah a lot of it is archtypes, but where the other characters are able to get past those due to the story development and the actors themselves, Ali Larter has just sorta been spinning her wheels this whole time.

Good episode, I wasn't disappointed at all, but then I am used to NBC marketing and they always overhype stuff. All I expected and wanted was a normal solid episode and I got a better than usual one, probably the best of the season for me.

I like the way they've handled Sylar so far, keeping him vague in a Voldemortian way. I am not hoping for them to all meet up soon and for plotlines to speed up, because the way it looks to me they are heading towards eventually becoming a super hero team and that has been done before. I'm not dreading it, but I'm not anxious for them to get to that stage. What's fun so far and interesting here is the part where they explore their powers and find each other. So I'm fine with them going slow.

Peter and Claire have chemistry, think they will get them together in a few seasons when she's a little older? However as others have pointed out elsewhere, due to her powers she's an eternal virgin. ;p When Peter told her to leave him, I was thinking man you aren't fully healed yet, hold on.

I found myself not missing the cop, I'd rank him along with Nikki and to a lesser extent DL as ones I am ok with but can do without. Mohinder doesn't bother me, he's boring but we get to see Arsi as a super hero. No really, yeah he was boring in America but I like him in his India scenes.

So far I watched the first four episodes and the show went from kinda interesting to just plain great. It just gets better and better, it's got me hook line and sinkered, it's no surprise the shows ratings get better and better.

I thought the flaw in the show was the pacing, it was jumping alot, but while I kept watching it I realized that the pacing though a flaw is also a strength, it never really feels like it drags.

Oh god ... I didn't think Claire could be anymore desirable ... but Archie ... well after your comment ... she is!

Something I thought was odd was Peter saying how he absorbs other people's powers. I didn't realize that was actually known on the show. I figured that's what it was, but did he figure that out before last week's episodes or talk about it? I may have missed it.

Yeah I wasn't sure. Last I had seen he thought he could fly sometimes, and hadn't put it together that he flies around his brother. But I figured I just missed/forgot some moment of realization.

After he took on Isaac's powers he probably put the pieces together and realized it.

It should be interesting this week to see how Nathan and the press react to his brother being arrested as a serial killer.

:noway:

Clearly it's going to be taking more leaps into the fantastical in future eps.

I'd say I can't wait, but I'm genuinely enjoying the slow burn approach the show's been employing so far.

This is a guess im gonna take with the show, which I would also love to see happen because it would be so unconventional. I get this strong feeling that maybe not next season much but probably the 3rd, the series will take a HUGE leap into being much more of just straight fantasy. I mean that would be the best way to go, the heroes will become well heroes and fight baddies. Cause this not knowing alot and little knowledge of things storyline cant go on forever, the series will have to take a dramatic leap into another direction and seeing future Hiro with his sword and such would lead me to belive thats what will be seeing in the future.

Some of those paintings depict villains and creatures that I think would work well in a feature film. Anyone think by Season 3 or 4 that Heroes will leap to the big screen during the summer break, like The X-Files did between Seasons 5 and 6? I think Heroes could pull off the leap to the big screen.

The producers apparently have a 3 year storyline currently in place.

Aww, poor Hiro. Being stuck in the past and all... that expression on his face was priceless

That guy in the beginning I'm assuming was Sylar? Wow, he's a total geek!

OK so now I'm confused. Did Charlie now die because of Sylar or because of a blood clot?

Oh, and regarding next week's death:

I'm hoping for Eden or (especially) Moyawnder.

At least Eden was slightly less annoying this week with her hair not all pixie-like and blah

Well we can rule out Mohander, he has no powers. The person who will die has powers. I am betting it Eden, I bet Syler will killer when he escapes.

Sylar looked like Superman (Brandon Routh). That's all i kept thinking throughout the episode.. I wonder if it was intentional.

I actually liked this episode, got to learn a lot about the characters. I wonder who this linderman person is and what role is he going to play.

I liked the episode much better than I thought I would. It still doesn't match some of the earlier episodes, but pretty good nonetheless. Hopefully next week's episode will actually live up to the hype the setup at the end of it.

I have a feeling that Linderman is somehow tied in with Claire's dad.
