Hmmmm i'd like to take a big fat shit in Condon's mouth
Honestly, the trailer gave me the same reaction i've always had for the film, a big fat WHATEVA. Doesnt do much for me and actually what surprised me is that it doesnt have that punch you would expect, pretty tame looking. I enjoyed the brief few seconds of the fall out.

That, I'm assuming, final trailer is okay I guess. I'm still looking forward to the film though.

I can't see this winning BP after that trailer. It just doesn't seem special enough at all, it doesn't seem like a movie that can go that far.

So, I guess it's a full on musical.
He thinks people will still like Chicago more.
And Hudson just keeps solidifying her nomination it seems.

Dreamgirls will easily lead all nominees this year.
And as of now I think it's the frontrunner ofr the win as well.

Wait, where have you heard it's not a full-on musical?
As for the Chicago comparisons, Dreamgirls is more dramatic, while Chicago is the dark comedy/satire one.

Yeah, no.
Went through the newest trailer, newest photos, and the not-very-good website, and its still doing nothing for me. Read the guy's review on aint-it-cool news, and he pretty much said he liked this because it was a two-hour sing-along-fest for motown fans with some decent performances. Hey, I'll love it, I love Motown, but all I'm seeing right now (taking in all the news) is Hudson supporting actress nom, and a *surprise* Murphy supporting actor nom. Oh, and some technicals, etc.

Eddie's one of the most talented people ever born. He's definitely the big selling point for me. I wish he'd do another standup sometime.

Dreamgirls will get less than 6 nominations at the Oscars.
Gauranteed.

I'm in love with the trailers, it's a great cast, and the idea of an all black film winning Best Picture is pretty incredible.
Loyal, can I be your second-in-command even if I'm equally rooting for The Departed?

I'll give it 7 at best...
Supporting Actor
Supporting Actress
Art Direction
Costume Design
Sound
Original Song (x2?)
And that trailer was just poorly assembled imo...

Actually, it depends on song. Do they qualify for any song or score related categories (because this isn't original material). If they do, they'll go over six, if they don't...could be close. I see two acting noms and about four techies. Maybe an adapted screenplay...maybe. And that's only because all the other contenders have been falling by the waistside.

I thought all the songs were from the Musical though? I don't know the rules for these categories, or maybe new songs were written for the movie.
