Post THE OC: Season 4
The fourth season of THE OC starts on Thursday, November 2nd. It airs against the biggest show of the season, GREY'S ANATOMY.

While I basically hated the third season, the first and second seasons of the show were decent. Hopefully this season will be much better than the last. I'll definitely be watching.

I don't think it would be in their best interest to put it up against Hereos and the CBS lineup. Plus, that's 24's timeslot.

It makes me sick that people are still watching this show, and not the much superior One Tree Hill instead... :nonono: I converted years ago.

LOL! One Tree Hill is so much worse than the already average OC. Last season of OTH was absolutely hysterical! :hahaha:

I beg to differ.

I laugh in the direction of those who prefer the OC.

Um, at least The OC doesn't have ghosts that seem to magically save lives while also tormenting the antagonist :P

One Tree Hill was great for its first two seasons, but the third season was just unbelievably awful. Every episode was worse than the next. I watched the first three episodes of the fourth season and I just can't take it anymore. It's too bad.

Here's an example of One Tree Hill's idea of "witty banter" between young married couple Haley and Nathan, who met when the former tutored the latter in the first season.

"I need a tutor. I think I'm failing marriage"
"Well did you try sleeping with the teacher?"

By the way, I'll also be taping The OC unless they move it to a new night. I also may watch it online because Fox On Demand is supposed to start offering it as of this Thursday. This has been one of my favorite shows since the first season, and despite the fact that the third season was a bit lackluster, there were a handful of great episodes. Supposedly early word is that this season is one of the best yet. I hope it will be as good as it once was and get picked up for a full season. It needs to make it to 100 episodes!

However, Grey's Anatomy is the best show on television and there is absolutely NO CHANCE that I will miss an episode for anything else ;)

Early word has it being the best season since the first with creator Josh Schwartz being much more involved.

I just watched the premiere online and it was excellent. I definitely agree that this show has gotten back on track. This episode felt much more similar to those from the earlier seasons. It was really engrossing and emotional, and I thought every actor was at the top of their game. I'm excited for the next new episode!

I go through stages with the OC. Sometimes, I won't watch an episodes, but then after one episode I start being religious about it.

And oh my God! OTH has to be some of the worst shit, I've ever watched. It was so bad, that it has been reduced to cable in Australia. Saturday night on cable may as well be Free TV.

...

But anyway, I missed the season finale last year. Did Marissa die?

I saw only 2 episodes last season, and thought they were much weaker than the first two seasons (which I loved). Was it really as bad as I thought?

I hardly spend time watching TV anymore, but I might buy the DVD depending on what you say. ;)

Have I mentioned how much I hate the stupid Fox network for putting this on Thursdays?

It's kind of annoying that I have like 3/4 of my entire television schedule on one night and like nothing on other nights.

House is on at 9/8 Central and Fox only runs 2 hours of programming so that's not an option.

The episode was decent but not as good as I had hoped since TV Guide raved about this season being a return to the show's roots.

I was expecting more as well. I had heard great things about it, and how it went back to Season 1 and I just didn't see it. It was miles better than S2 or S3, but still I wasn't particularly enthusiastic. Every premiere of having Ryan distance himself from the Cohen's and having him be reluctant to go back is getting very tiresome, and while I can understand his motivations it isn't making for an interesting character, just a tired one.

On the other hand Julie was awesome, and I liked Kaitlin a lot more than I remembered. Summer and Taylor still are very amusing but Che will get very old, very quickly.

On ctv.ca they have the second episode up, I'm not sure if it's only for Canadians, but it is much better than the first. This show may be back on the right track.

I'm not trying to be an OC hater or anything, but really... 3.38 million viewers is absolutely brutal. That's worse than anything from the major 4 networks still on the air, I believe. I can't see this lasting past 2006, despite it's acclaim and success in the past.

I am not going to lie, if this gets cancelled or replaced during its season I will be really, really upset :( It is sad that it did so poorly, but expected as well because of the horrible timeslot. It better do well on Wednesdays, I hope it beats One Tree Hill at least :P It is soooooo much better than that lame show.

This season is great so far. I just watched the second episode of the season and it was fantastic, season one quality in my opinion.

You know, I think my problem with The O.C. in the first few episodes is that there were no limousines going over bridges, no underwater rescues, no ghost kid-uncles and nary a stalker in sight. I mean, how am I supposed to know this is a fine program if those key elements of great story telling aren't present?
