Quote:
My Cousin Vinny is a 1992 American crime comedy film written and produced by Dale Launer, and also directed by Jonathan Lynn, starring Joe Pesci, Ralph Macchio, Marisa Tomei, Mitchell Whitfield, Lane Smith, Bruce McGill and Fred Gwynne. This is Fred Gwynne’s final film appearance before his death on July 2, 1993 of pancreatic cancer.

The film deals with two young New Yorkers traveling through rural Alabama who are put on trial for a murder they did not commit, and the comic attempts of a cousin, Vincent Gambini, a newly minted lawyer, to defend them.

Much of the humor comes from the contrasting personalities of the brash Italian American New Yorkers Vinny and his fiancée Mona Lisa, and the more laid back Southern townspeople. Despite being a comedy, the film also touches on some serious subjects such as perjury, contempt of court, bias and mistrials.

Pesci and Tomei received vast critical praise for their performances, and Tomei won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Fred Gwynne also received critical acclaim for his performance as Judge Chamberlain Haller. In the August 2008 edition of the American Bar Association Journal, My Cousin Vinny was rated #3 in their cover story listing of "The 25 Greatest Legal Movies", after To Kill a Mockingbird and 12 Angry Men.

One of my favorite films. Simple, smart, AND funny. Also, very accurate legal and trial procedures which impressed me.

Pretty amusing comedy, that stood out more because it came out in a period when there were hardly any good comedies. My biological clock is ticking like THIS. I still remember some of the scenes and lines, funny stuff.

Excellent little gem of a comedy, with great re-watchability factor. I like it a lot.

One of the best comedies of all-time. Good performances all around, especially by some of the character actors.

Awesome movie, when Pesci's schtick was in top form, made around the same time as Goodfellas. Everything is great about this movie. A, holds up well.

Can't remember much movie, atleast the details, but that above is hilarious even in writting. Or maybe just for my visualising Joe Pesci saying it.

One of the best fish out of water stories out there.

10/10

: Imagine you're a deer. You're prancing along. You get thirsty. You spot a little brook. You put your little deer lips down to the cool, clear water - BAM. A fuckin' bullet rips off part of your head. Your brains are lying on the ground in little bloody pieces. Now I aks ya, would you give a fuck what kind of pants the son-of-a-bitch who shot you was wearing?

One of my favorite comedies. Anytime it's on cable I watch it, never get tired of it. It's very entertaining, fun and funny. Joe Pesci and the lovely and sexy Marisa Tomei shine here. Great movie.

8/10 (A-)

I dunno, I think she really deserved it.

The Oscar nominee clip they used for her was the biological clock one, lol.

(Though the "deer that gets shot" is pretty usable too.)

One of my top 5 comedies of all time, the movie is just so simple yet hilarious at the same time, it reminds me of all comedies from the 40s and 50s for some strange reason.

I agree but I know some questioned it.
