Thanks for the list xia. It will be good to see the patterns emerge as a few more films get tacked on!

The Departed is going to have the best #s so far, heh. I haven't seen a grade under A yet.

MC started tracking The Departed. Two 100's and one 90 so far.

I updated the table.
The Departed got another positive at RT.

Instead of rolling your eyes, do something productive and chart the damn things yourself if they are so important to you.

Another score at MC to put The Departed's average at 92. However, New York Magazine's review does make me think that people who have seen and adored Infernal Affairs may just like it slightly less than people who haven't or didn't fall in love with the original.

A 100 from Newsweek and 80 from Empire upped The Departed slightly to 93. The Queen slipped a little to 90 with 18 reviews.

Here's a pretty generic version of Mav's chart if anyone wants to continue to update it. I don't venture into this section enough (and personally, not a HUGE fan of Academy Awards) to update it, but it's a start?

EDIT: Oh, Lecter's updating the one on the previous page, just use that. I think we can somehow move Lecter's post to the first post in this thread so we don't have to go to that page just to see the chart.

Zingy, I felt so bad for you doing all that work that I put the chart from Lecter's post in the first post again.

Nah, that's not what I meant (and I didn't do that either). I was referring to physically moving Lecter's post so it becomes the first post in this thread so HE can update it (or a mod). Your chart being in your post doesn't help if only mods can update it.

Massive update.
I also added xia's chart in the first post, so he can either update it there or post it and I'll copy and paste it there.

I think both The Departed and The Queen are becoming the front-running locks in the best picture race. I'm a bit iffy on calling The Queen a close lock and being a satire doesn't help but honestly, I just don't think that more than 3 other films, American and somewhat mainstream, getting too close to the reviews The Queen has been receiving.
I know reviews don't translate to nominations and critics don't translate to voters, so we'll have to see how the other players shape up.

The Departed got 4 stars from the ever-so-hard-to-floor James Berardinelli, whose only other 4 star movie this year was United 93. It also upped The Departed to 93 on Metacritic. Dayum.

Jon, you were late posting that.
91 at BFCA for The Departed.
3.5 stars from James Berardinelli on Little Children.

I was expecting Slant to give The Departed it's first bad review. The Queen takes the lead.

Village Voice's review took the Departed's metacritic score down to an 87.
