Wow, that blows...does this mean we won't be seeing Scott V here at all anymore, even just to shoot the shit?

Well...that stinks.

But on the other hand, there may be more surprises with Friday numbers this way.

Sorry about that, though, Scott. We all aprreciated it a lot.

Yeah, I sometimes miss that. Thinking of not reading Yahoo ratings thread anymore.

Though, of course, appreciate the work from both guys there, and Scott's.

He's the administrator of the forum, he'll still be "here." Just no more crowd reports and I assume screen allocations as well.

I hope my employer doesn't search for me as well.

Probably best to refer to it as your "Usual theater" rather than state its name/location.

Unless your real life name is Zing, I think you're safe man.

Well, I don't work at a theater anyways, but just incase my employer wanted to search my e-mail address for no reason, he'd find my posts. Heh.

Plus, with Scott, I know (or remember) his boss actually having an account on this forum quite a while back. So it's weird that all of a sudden, he can't post info.

He probably could open a different account on say Boxofficefanatic or Mojo under a different name and post in there. As long as we keep the shit quit he'll be safe.

That's not fair to Scott, though, considering his actual job is apparently at stake with that kind of thing.

I think we should just deal with it. I mean, if you guys really need crowd reports, Jmorphin and others post them fairly often. And Notfabio does like every week too.

I'm with Libs on the "longing for surprise" bit. Rarely nowadays is a box office opening "surprising" or "unexpected" due to all of the pre-opening gauges that are set here on KJ, one of them usually predicting the outcome.

PEACE, Mike.

In order to really be surprised, you shouldn't come into this section at all on Friday night.

But anyways, you guys can't expect someone to put their job on the line to give you crowd reports. notfabio, Animosity Reigns, JMorphin and a few others supply them consistantly, that should be enough until Saturday morning.

I agree fully. I remember the times when I was actually blown away by huge opening days/weekends, but now with tracking, Yahoo and crowd reports, everything is so predetermined.

Nope. I'm training myself not to run out and see every single new movie the minute it opens as I have been for two years. I've also spent my entire bank account on books right now, and really can't afford it. Its, like, "Hmmmm, This book is 40 bucks, ok, well, the next four movies I was gonna see I'll skip." That's how a justify having to charge my tuition to a credit card.

I figure I spent a good 1,500 bucks on movie tickets in the past two years, and its time to spread a little of that wealth to the publishing houses!

People know the theater Scott works in by now, so we can still check how many screens each film is allocated on Tuesday/Wednesday ourselves, just not the specific size information and then the crowd report, but notfabio covers these different parts throughout the week, and his theater is close by. We also have JMorphin and AR cover different regions as well as people from northeast. And I'm sure Scott will still give his predictions and thoughts each week.

that's a real bummer that Scott V can't report anymore, I liked to compare and contrast our reports when I had the chance. I guess I will be more cautious in doing my reports from now on also. I don't know if Scott V was a manager/assistant mgr at his theater. I am now, was promoted last month, so I can give more detailed info. I'll just keep it a little more vague in terms of which theater I'm reporting for, something like "my usual theater in central texas" or something like that ;)
