It's more of a internet driven film, the ratio should be a bit higher then 100. The crowd reports arent very encouraging either.

You can blame it on low theatre counts, but such a great change of pattern ain't gonna happen, I'd guess.
Theater Counts have a big effect on ratios.
Front page also for H&K.

On certain films it does and Beerfest is certainly much more Harold & Kumar than Wedding Crashers.

Why on certain films?
I think that there just isn't much of a sample size so you end up with a few bombs that are misleading.

Or a few successes that are misleading.

Lecter is right. Theres no way Beerfest will get just a 90 ratio. The following for Broken Lizard is almost as strong as Kevin Smith

I can think of a reason that the bombs would be misleading. Theater counts. Why WC, 4YOV and AW? PG-13 comedies similar to H&K, Waiting and Grandma's Boy have high ratios.

You will see tommorrow. Im not saying it will be as high as Clerks 2 since thats a sequel but definately higher than Jersey Girl. Stop projecting your biasness into the ratio

Take their smallest and his biggest?
What about Clerks II - ~ $24 million and Super Troopers - $18 million?
I don't think the followings are equally big, but Roid isn't far off.

Plus, the written to total review ratio is near 10 for Beerfest. Clerks II was at the low end: 3-4, I don't remember exactly. As if there should have been any doubt the comparision is awful.

Super Troopers made it's money from the marketing campaign. Clerks II was all fanbase. Anyway the written reviews prove it wrong. There's no real fanbase.

Shack doesn't count as a fanbase, sorry.
(keep in mind Im not agreeing with DP07, I just wanted to take a jab at Broken Lizard.)

WC and 40YOV are not gross-out comedies. They attract a lot more adults. Beerfest is much closer to films such as Waiting and Road Trip.

But do we know what Road Trip would have had as a ratio? I suspect it wouldn't have been that high actually. Anyway, American Wedding was low.

DP07 wrote: Why does everyone think this looks poor for Beerfest? I was expecting a ratio near 90.
Right now I'm thinking: Invincible: 4.5m Beerfest: 3.5m Idlewild: 2.6m HTEFW: 1.6m
My final guesses:
Invincible: 4.2m
Beerfest: 3.3m
Idlewild: 2.5m
HTEFW: 1.4m

Final projections:
Invincible - $4.5-5.0m
Idlewild - $2.0-2.2m
Beerfest - $1.6-1.9m
How to Eat Fried Worms - $0.9-1.1m (surest DOA this week, terrible grade and terrible last 4 hours)

These all look about right to me. There's clearly some conflicting thoughts on Beerfest, but it's obvious that this has tanked from the crowd reports. Worms also looks pretty sad.

All in all, a very good weekend for Yahoo! Nice job with the projections given the problems the site had.

Actually, it would have been the other way around if it were clogged. Lower written to total ratios would result.
