Tony Jaa rejects Rush Hour 3 role
"A month or two ago, Director Brett Ratner mentioned he’d love to get rising martial-arts movie star Tony Jaa (“Ong Bakâ€Â) in “Rush Hour 3â€Â. Today, Jaa tells Rotten Tomatoes that that won’t be happening.
According to the actor, Ratner did call, and there were talks about him joining the production, but due to scheduling difficulties (he’s busy doing the “Ong Bak†sequel), they just couldn’t work it out.
No doubt Ratner wanted Jaa to play a villain in the film, which pits sirs Chan and Tucker against a Chinese Triad crew."

Sad news Everyone who knows Tony Jaa, knows how awesome it'd have been to have him face Jackie Chan in a fight.

Thats a real shame. Jaa deserves a wider audience for his skills.

Ong Bak sequel over Rush Hour 3 ?
He better fire his agent.
This could do for him what Lethal Weapon 4 did for Jet Li.
This is sad news indeed

Is reject really the right word? or was that just the title of the article? That would have been sweet, he is very awe in the same sense when you first saw Jackie Chan or Jet Li, maybe even more.

Exactly, as much as I love Ong Bak, it had a very limited audience. Rush Hour 3 would have given him a bigger exposure

Why would he fire his agent? According to the article he's already doing Ong-Bak meaning that he's committed and probably signed a contract to it.
If you leave a film like that, you not only get sued, but the chances of you working again are greatly reduced.
Just a schedualing conflict. Happens often.

ever thought that he wants to push thay movies and not hollywood movies????
Look what are in his movies: Thay spirit, culture fight style own stuntteam etc...I guess as long as he can he wil do his own stuff and when that starts to fail he might think about moving to Hollywood.

So who would be the second choice now theres no Tony Jaa? Stephen Chow?Kind of hard to picture him since hes too much of a comedic martial artist to be seriously taken in as a villian
