I can't wait for this! I've loved Frank Miller's stuff since I was 12 years old. I'm even more excited about Miller directing Will Eisner's Spirit, but 300 is high on my list, and I wonder why Miller didn't direct this one.

I'm not sure why everyone is worried about it being cut up. It's already been rated by the MPAA.
Quote: Rated R for graphic battle sequences throughout, some sexuality and nudity.

This sounds very awesome! Seriously, sounds like an actionfest that a film fan would die for.

This is an extremely gay film.

I'll definetly check it out. Althou this does make me pine for a historically accurate account of the battle to be made also.

I might watch it on DVD, but I'm not 'looking forward to it'. Sword and sandals epics have been real crapfests recently; I don't see any reason why this should be different. Kingdom of Heaven was awful, Alexander I wouldn't even consider watching, and Troy-urgh

This is pretty dissimilar from those sword and sandal epics.
I'm actually looking forward to 300. I want to see if Penn can do another great movie.

Sorry... Zack Snyder (director of DOTD remake). I was just reading the other thread and got him mixed up with Zak Penn.

Heh. That's what I thought.
You liked the DOTD remake?!?! You usually hate all horror films, andy.
Yeah, it's freakin' great though. He's pretty much the only reason I'm interested in this film.

For the most part, it's better in the beginning than as it goes, but I like it because it focuses on more on the social implications of something like this happening then on the gore aspect. Other films have the social aspect as well, but not as great. I still think 28 Days Later is probably the best "zombie" type horror film out there though.
And it's really well shot.
I actually don't even like the original.
I still love the opening titles to Dawn of the Dead (with Johnny Cash) as well.
