Quote:
Back to the Future Part III is a 1990 American science fiction comedy Western film. It is the third and final installment of the Back to the Future trilogy. The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis and starred Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen, Thomas F. Wilson and Lea Thompson. The film takes place immediately after the events of Back to the Future Part II. Marty McFly must rescue Doc Brown, who is stranded in 1885, from being killed by Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen.

Filming took place in both California and Arizona, and the film was released in the United States on May 25, 1990. The film was a commercial success and achieved $244.53 million at the international box office, making it the 6th highest grossing film of 1990. Fan reaction to the film was more positive than to the first sequel, with many stating that this entry to the series reflected the original better than Part II. Critics also gave Part III better reviews than Part II, which had been met with mostly mixed to positive reactions.

Good sci-fi comedy western, better than the second one. Still not up to par with the first one. Still, a sci-fi western?

Yup better than the second, not close to the thrill ride that was the first. The Western part of it was ok, and going back in time was a nice concept.

It was again great use of manure when Marty knocked out Buford Tannen into the pile of manure.

Worst of the series. I guess I wasn't fascinated with the whole "western" thing. Still a great movie nonetheless.

A dismal ending to the trilogy. Uninspired, repetitive, unoriginal. (C+)

Mediocre movie. I enjoyed the first two quite a lot, but this movie is just such a castastrophe. The whole western thing is lame, and I thought the this entry lost some of its focus in the whole going back in time scenario. It's not horrible, but its not terribly original either.

Loved the first
Disappointed in the second
Liked the third a lot.

Post Re: Back to the Future Part III
This is definitely more focused and the love story is given enough time to breathe. The western parts are done so nicely and I loved the constant Eastwood references. It is also a very satisfying conclusion to the trilogy where characters come full circle and the end feels like a goodbye to Doc and Marty with time travel parts still open for interpretation.
