A few product tie-ins? Heh. You're starting to sound like excel from over a month ago.

And I also don't think the trailer reactions were necessarily better. Maybe from your point of view, but there were tons of reports from X3 where people clapped for Snakes. Big laughs for Nights, claps for Snakes... one isn't significantly better.

Yet you were ok last year with product tie ins for Fantastic Four. Oh and as for clapping for Snakes on a Plane,it seems rather mixed when I and a few others have seen the reaction on SOAP where people were laughing about the film not because it was good but because they dont know what the heck they just saw. Its kind of weird that at first you said TN will be lucky to make 30 million when I started my TN thread and as the days come closer, you are now closer to 40 million than a few weeks ago  . Probably it will happen again with SOAP just like when you said LM beating Dupree OW was impossible

Eh...bringing up old predictions is kind of a sign for a lack of a good arguement. Fantastic Four had 5x more tie-ins than Talladega Nights, but even so, I don't recall using that as a basis for my arguement (though I don't remember back that far) and I don't think it's important because Fantastic Four had some fantastic marketing to earn its opening (and you're bringing up a film to which you predicted completely wrong, too). As for trailer reactions, um, well if you're saying that the reaction you saw was bad, I can't say much, but based on the reports we've seen from X3, they lean far more towards the "clapping" than the "WTF." And I don't recall every saying that Little Man beating Dupree was impossible. I said "No" originally, meaning that I don't agree, but yeah, I didn't realize that's considered "impossible" now. And, I even said that Little Man would do really well anyways. And where did I say it'd be lucky to top $30 million? Looking at your thread, I see a prediction of $28 million on the first page, and about two pages later, I said "it's starting to look like a real possibility." So now I think you're just kind of making up random stuff. I do think it'll do well, and closer to $40 million, but the film is hardly a LOCK for $40 million (you actually said $45 million is a lock, which is even more absurd).

I think that Ricky Bobby is gonna score about 16 million and SOAP about 15m.

Some people here are underestimating SOAP. Its getting a lot of attention outside of the internet. People are talking about it. Ofcourse saying how stupid it looks and is going to be but that they are still going to watch it.

Nah I use lock because everyone keeps using "Lock" so loosely like saying Date Movie is a lock for 25 million  . But seriously Im using the word lock in jest, and it seems to be working in my favor because I got everyone to hike up their predictions but I do think it will be closer to 40 million than 30 million. As far as the F4 argument, I did recall in the arguments against me predicting low was that the movie had alot of product tie in and while product tie-ins are a ridiculous argument, it does help it very slightly say maybe an extra 1 million OW in free advertising but not a whole lot.

Speaking of product tie-ins, I think New Line should have teamed up with Domino's Pizza. "Snake Pizza." Does that sound delicious or what?

Or how about with cellphone companies where the ring tone is a rattlesnake or, alternately, Samuel L. Jackson's signature line from the film
