Here's the Soundtrack List for MIAMI VICE I found over at CHUD:
Just so you know, though maybe it's already on the street over there in the US, here's the movie's official soundtrack track list:
1. "In The Air Tonight" Nonpoint 2. "One Of These Mornings" Moby feat. Patti LaBelle 3. "We're No Here" Mogwai 4. "Sinnerman (Felix Da Housecat's Heavenly Remix)" Nina Simone 5. "Auto Rock" Mogwai 6. "Arranca" Manzanita 7. "Ready For Love" India.Arie 8. "Strict Machine" Goldfrapp 9. "Pennies In My Pocket" Emilio Estefan 10. "New World In My View" King Britt 11. "Sweep" Blue Foundation 12. "Anthem" Moby 13. "Blacklight Fantasy" Freaky Chakra 14. "Mercado Nuevo" John Murphy 15. "Who Are You" John Murphy 16. "Ramblas" King Britt 17. "A-500" Klaus Badelt & Mark Batson
Looks fine to me except for Collins not doing his own song.. I can't imagine why not except for maybe $$$$..

^ Because his version is too old.
BTW, interesting soundtrack. Looks like Mann is sticking with the emotionally charged, R&B stuff (as in Ali and Collateral).

Yes I can see that for Vice. Maybe a slightly higher opening.
This is my most antcipated for the rest of the summer. Looks so good and I used to watch the tv show as a kid. Plus Michael Mann directing.
And it has two absolute HOTTIES!! Naomi Harris and Gong Li!!

David Poland LOVED it:
http://www.moviecitynews.com/columnists ... ivice.html
Critics should love this one, methinks. They need a summer movie to love.
Predictions:
Opening: 29.4
Total: 100.5 (3.42)

Quote: But the biggest joys were, first, Gong Li, in what is easily her best, most raw performance yet in English. Mann didn't just want a beautiful woman, but he wanted a performance that stripped her to her freckles. And he gets it. It starts a little chilly and accent distracting. But as the movie progresses, this turns into a really lovely and intimate piece of work from this actress.

Good to hear he loved it, he did say this though Quote: I kind of expect it to split critics and audiences.
Hopefully he's wrong about that.

What a blatant product placement Universal is doing, I wonder how much BoxofficeMojo paid for this, I guess they couldnt afford much because the Boxoffice part is missing.

Jeffrey Wells loved it too.
Quote: But please, please see this film for Gong Li, if for no other reason than it will help you forget how poorly she was used as the tortured wicked bitch-sister in Memoirs of a Geisha. This is one of the sexiest and most soulful performances by an actress in any medium in a very long time. I couldn't quite understand everything she said, to be perfectly honest (her accent is a problem), but ooh, mama, the stuff she exudes during her scenes with Farrell.

Well, I still see it opening with $35+ million. I think the buzz is there and it looks like the only real large-scale high profile movie for the rest of the month.

I don't see mediocre legs. It really has little competition in August and reviews seem to be great. If it opens to $35 million, it's certainly passing $100 million and going a bit further.

And August competiton is fearced. You have dozens of films being released, all targeting at a bunch of demograpics. Talledega Nights I think will hurt Vice as I see young males going to that, and young males is Vices main auidence. Not to mention, because Vice main demograph are young males, I think that will cause it to be frontloaded even with positive WOM.
I think Miami Vice will go a bit beyond young males due to Michael Mann. At least after it spreads the WoM.

The negative reviews came with the raw, incomplete 3-hour version. Now it has been cut down to 2:10.

I'm gonna change my prediction for this given David Poland's stellar review of this movie saying it's the BEST yet and say it'll gross just under 200 Million, about 180 Million Domestically..

There is still alot of room for a late summer breakout hit and I think BKB and BJ are onto something. I wouldnt be surprised to see this pass $180m. That late July date has been a good one over the years and competition isnt that strong.

To make over 180m total, i'd say a movie like Vice needs about 60m OW.

Agreed. It's not going to be as leggy as Collateral, let alone even more leggy. It'll be lucky to top 3.5x.
