The film would need less than a 3.0 Multiplier not not hit 400m, and every blockbuster that broke the open weekend record since the begining of the thousands (harry potter and spiderman) has had 3.55 multiplier. The least I see it making is 430m with a 3.19 multipier.

:hahaha:

What?

What markets? It fell over 50% internationally last weekend.

From comingsoon.net

"Dead Man's Chest" has earned $169.39 million in five days. "Revenge of the Sith "was at $172.8 million after the same amount of days, but it looks like "Pirates" will be ahead by the sixth day.

Oh yea

They should have put something better on the 4th of July weekend spot that could hold up to pirates, like Transformers!

Pirates dropped only 13% from Monday. How is this not impressive for a film that had the LARGEST OPENING WEEKEND in history? I consider that very impressive. I was projecting a 15-20% drop into tuesday, knowing monday would have spillover too.

Way to go Pirates.

PEACE, Mike.

Why did 90% of movies increase 10-35% ON Tuesday? Obviously DMC's drop is expected do to it opening on the weekend but the others all increased minus SR which is showing awful legs.

Some humor for all of you. Apparently, this is Kal-El response to POTC2 and SR.

POTC II 310-330M domestic (Perhaps less)

If you say so, other websites are saying 290-310
Please pay attention to how frontloading with mixed WOM== you fall fast down the homestretch.
DMC could defy the rule, but it doesnt have top notch WOM like Spidey or Shrek II.

Very very doubtful. And SR seems leggy to me, its the weekend that SR shows it stuff. Many here predicted 60-66% drop for SR because of DMC.
IT held for 58%.

Decent considering how huge DMC's OW1 was.
Yikes!

And I'm sure you go on other websites, others have the race real close with the edge to DMC so far. SR is doing phenominal in markets so far.
Beating out LOTR3 and HPI and GOF is amazing.

Imagine if it sets records in the biggest territories.

DMC is so frontloaded it could fall below 300M, though I think 315-330M is the max for this one"

Fanboy to the max.

I have been going back to BOM just to read his stuff....he's saying Disney was afraid to open Pirates in Indonesia over the weekend because SR is breaking records there.

Should depending on BO and HV sales of both.

SR will make at least 2B-3B for TW(thanks to the movie, 500 license partners, TW merchandising from Superboy and Smallville etc), so POTC II should make at least 1B by itself from HV, merchandising and everything.
We will see, if the OS gross isnt too big and HV doesnt sell 20+M units like the first, then POTC III will be the film that profitability rides on.

Actually according to Hwood Reporter Disney will spend 650-700+M
for the two films including advertising and prints WW, so the break even point is closer to 1.3-1.4B.
So its a nice gamble for the mouse.

I love this stuff....

Quote:
OS BO can reap 400,500, 600 and even up to 700M for SR.

Quote:
The day you have intelligence to bate anyone is the day, you finally can see six figure income. Maroon. I think everyone sees the film is way ahead of Batman Begins and Xmen so far, especially when you include OS BO.

Exactly why with your silly statements that you will always work for a boss.

 Even your name shows the inevitability of where your going to end up Pisher. I love the black sheep troublemakers, trying to tell me about showbusiness.

Fact I may have enough money to invest in on SM4 in 2008-2009, can you say the same. I doubt it.
Just a lowlife troll, like too many silly members that come from KJ to try and mock up BOM

Like the other clowns do bring yourself to our mojo party. So I can embarrass you utterly. ;)

Quote:
Exactly, and it may actually live up to expectations if it can do numbers in UK, Spain, Mexico, Japan, Chile etc., that are similar to its earth shattering debuts in Indonesia, Phillipines, Malaysia and India.

Quote:
If SR makes HP numbers OS, the race is over. Pirates I doubt will make DVC numbers WW.

Quote:
By next week its dead in the water and the film will have a 49-56M weekend2.

Quote:
DMC should be falling like a stone this week or by week 3, as its WOM is mediocre to okay film at best Ice. Huge difference in audience reaction.

SR's WOM is mostly hailed as excellent to great film, and OS audiences seem to be digging Big Blue so far. Looking good to me.

Quote:
Actually most people are going to Imax, I think WOM is great.
We will see this weekend to see if it picksup. Folks have already told you SR is a weekend type film, folks are looking at the WOM right now and heading to the film slowly but surely. You keep forgetting he's been gone
for 19 years.

Quote:
The only thing Singer needs to do is add a major Supervillain and more Superman feats and the sequel should do SM to LOTR numbers.

I wanted 11.5%, but 13.3% is not bad. It should drop around the same tomorrow and less on Thursday. A 20m+ Friday shouldn't be difficult. It should get at least 195m by then.

Those family films have great increases. I think with POTC filling much of the early demand it now leaves more for the other movies in their recovery.

The Tuesday numbers aren't that great. It dropped 13% when almost everything went up by 10%. Still looks like Thurs. is deciding day. The numbers certainly aren't bad, but they really don't tell us anything. POTC2 might be in trouble, if Baumer thinks it will make $400m now, and I don't think he has ever been right in projecting a POTC number  ;)
