Is John Tucker Must Die gonna be another Mean Girls?
I'm gonna call it right now - I could realllly see this one breaking out. It got an absolutely tremendous reaction at Pirates of the Carribean, and it seems like the type of film a lot of people could hop on the bandwagon for. Personally I think it looks awful but whatever, I'll probably see it if it does go to 50+ million.

Good thing you'll only see it if it passes 50m+ because that aint happening. It's possible it can make a okay total of around 30m, but shouldnt go much higher then that. Not anything to really indicate a big draw to the film, Mean Girls is not such a great comparison.

I have a good feeling about it. If She's the Man and Stick It could have decent openings with not that much marketing, it should be easy for this to break out with the good push Fox is giving it. Not only that, but the trailer has been getting great reactions and there hasn't been a high school comedy since She's the Man so it'll bring in the teens. I'd say it should at least be able to get a $15m opening, maybe even $20m.

I think your right MovieDude, I saw the Trailor with superman returns and everyone in the theater was laughing there asses off. I didnt laugh at all and im not watching it, but I think about 60% of the crazies in that theater will see it.

I will not reach Mean Girls status, but I think it could make some decent coin. I think it could open in the double digits (in millions) thanks to trailer reactions.
Maybe 40 Days and 40 Night perhaps.

I've been thinking for a while that it will do well, I don't know about reaching Mean Girls level, but still a decent hit. I could see an opening of 15 mil+ on route to 40 total, possibly more.
Not having someone like Lohan in the cast will hurt it.

That trailer looks just horrible. I almost thought the movie itself was rated R but maybe 50 million total isnt too far off because like I said it looks R rated but is PG-13 which would work in its favor unlike Eurotrip or Girl Next Door that were geared towards teens but were rated R

Mean girls had Tina Fey writing it, who is a pretty good comedy writer, and Lindsay Lohan starring. Tucker doesn't have hardly anything going for it that I can see. So no I don't think it will be another Mean Girls.

God, no.
The only thing that was remotely funny was the whole "Dramalama... Kiss her! Kiss her again!"

It has an amazing score on the Yahoo Buzz Chart and it doesn't even come out for two weeks. I think Moviedude could be right about this one. Perhaps not $25 million, but like $15-20 million is possible.

Yeah, I think this is going to be something of a surprise hit, moving the Mandy Moore lookalike Ariel Kebble one step closer to becoming a bigger star than Moore herself.
