Sony schedule is really crowded. Lots of potential could be ruined.

We're talking about Liongates here. It's almost a guaranteed success, really.

Hostel somehow has gotten some really great WOM at my school. Sooooo many people have been talking about it, pinpointing the eye and train scenes, saying it was the sickest and grossest movie that they've ever seen.
...I wanted to punch them in the face.

January these days seems like a retread of previous January's - ie. a second Hostel and a second Are We there Yet? Seems like Zodiac is dumped in Jan - but thats still better than what we usually get.
They really need to open something big in January and break that 10 year record of Star Wars!!

Are we sure they're not going to have really brief runs at he very end of December in LA/NY, like In Good Company?

Wow, what the hell.
It's a good move, box-office wise, but I want to see it.

I'm really getting the feeling that the movie...sucks.
Considering it's been delayed a million times. This reminds me of when they delayed Into the Blue from July to September last year.

Yeah, it probably sucks.
It's been bumped from spring to summer to fall.
That's a real shame, too, 'cos it looks pretty good.

Damn, well now it opens against....
The Covenant
Hollywoodland
I Could Never Be Your Woman
Pathfinder
Why open against 3 other movies and another horror movie?!?!

Wouldn't be surprised if it moved again.
This is Dimension, after all.

All five movies won't open on the same weekend, but even if it happens, it's not unusual for September. And, that is the same weekend that The Exorcism of Emily Rose opened to $30 million, so it is a good move.

I wonder if The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause or Flushed Away will move from the November 3 date. They both won't open on the same weekend.

Its funny how the weakest months of the year are the most overcrowded - its laughable.
I think Santa Clause 3 should move back a week or two and get itself closer to Thanksgiving/Christmas.
