500m is about 100m off of what it's gonna make WW.
Not a chance it makes 500m domestic alone, it'll either increase a bit from the last film and end up with something like 315m or so or decrease just slightly.

That's an incredibly narrow range.
Minimum: $160 million
Maximum: $560 million
Most Likely: $350 million
To apply the term minimum, that means it would be absolutely impossible for it to gross less than $275 million. It is definitely not a lock for $275 million. Not a chance in hell. It's a lock for $150, and that's probably the highest lock I've personally ever given.

300 mil tops! Although 220 mil is more realistic. Yeah, I'll go with that.

I will say this:
If the trailer blows me away, I'll join the club.
But if it gives me the same feeling as the teaser(which is an effective trailer that will bring in the fanbases and get some of the public eye), then I'm afraid I can't join. Will def. join the 350m+ club, but no 500m club.
Well...?

No Way. Not even if Orlando and Keira had a hard-core sexscene, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts had Cameos and free popcorn with every ticket would it make 500 Million USD

Any gross below the first film is disappointing. $325 million is nothing to sneeze at.
However, neither is $500 million

You can't even spell "minimum."

Umm...it is a lock for $200 million.
You didn't think films like Harry Potter 4 and ROTK and ROTS were locks for $200 million either?

Not a chance. There is always some outside absurd surreal circumstance that could prevent the movie form getting that high, albeit unrealistic.

I think its a lock for 300 million...If the first one made 300+, then this will beyond a reasonable doubt.

I will say this.
Pirates 2 has a better shot at 500 mil than Superman Returns does at 300.

Besides the Shrek series, what evidence do you people have to say that this can go over $500M? That would be at least 64% over the original. FotR had a pretty similar run to it and look at TTT, it didn't go up to $500M, it increased only 8% over FotR. And FotR's DVD sold at least as well as Pirates. If PotC2 was going to crack $500M, PotC1 wouldn't have stopped at $305M, it would have grossed $400M+.
Shrek 2 is the only example of a sequel having a huge leap over an already huge first movie.

LotR only had one year between movies. Considering that the DVD would only have been out for a couple of months before the second movie came out, it leaves little room for fanbase growth.

One year would have been way more than enough for its fanbase to grow, if it had had to grow. Especially with all the Oscar buzz. From early 2002 to late 2003, it was THE main movie event spoken of in the industry.
