Trailer focuses too heavily on the first half hour or so of the film, makes it look like two films.
Maybe Neeson playing (Ducard? I forget) was a bad choice.
Action looks good tho.

Honestly, I am not impressed...looks like a decent action flick...but nothing more.

very very very heavy spoiler warning here. extremely heavy, could potentially destroy the movie for you if you proceed.
Neeson is purposely playing the character like this. I've been comparing his voice to how it should be from my knowledge of the character and without looking ridiculus and without giving away somehting that shall remain unmentioned.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way and I have a sneeky suspicion that the general audience is going to feel the same as well.. The only folks I see having an orgasm over this are the hardcore Batfans.. It looks OK like you said but nothing more..

I have been saying this for a while also. Even though this is my most anticpated film of 2005 and I have been following it since it was Batman:Intimidation Game it will do average summer blockbuster numbers.
This is a very rough estimate but consider something very close or even a little bit below i,Robot's numbers and you have Batman Begins theatrial run. It is going to be to dark and sophisticated for it to do Spide-man numbers....but it will do better than Batman and Robin.

Optimus .. you're right to think that it will do moderate business. The way I see it, batman begins needs to make about 180 to 200 million (more than I Robot : ) ). Then its job is done .... if WB is going for anything more, they're stupid. The purpose of this movie is not to give something to the crowd that they'll all love and come again and again and so make money off it, the purpose is to restore credibility back into the franchise and later, for other important DC characters (namely, Superman)

Baba, that makes no sense.. You want Warner Bros to make a movie that the crowd won't love but only to restore the faithfulness to the Batman and DC Comic's??? :? Guess what?? If the crowd doesn't love it and it doesn't do gangbuster type of box office, there won't be anymore Batman movies, much less any credibility.. If I were Warner Bros Execs, I'd make absolute damn certain to please as many moviegoers with this as possible to make up for the last 2 pathetic attempts.. This is Warner Bros last shot at this.. Don't fuck it up...

no thats not what I meant.....
my meaning is this ... it prolly came out wrong the first time ..
WB should not be making this movie to mimic spiderman. This movie SHOULD not be considered a money making machine .... if it does .. sigh ... it'll be stupid.
According to me, the sole purpose of this movie should be to build back credibility and disassociate itself from the old Batman movies. Get good word of mouth, make enough in the box office to be considered a decent run and finally get rid of the goof persona batman has always had with the public .... thats it .. no more .. it should be marketed as such and so far, I've been happy it has ...
The second they start focusing on the number game, I think they'll destroy their entire marketing and build up.

Well BKB, I hate to disagree with you, because I know you'll just whine to get your way like you always do, but EVERY time I see a Batman Begins trailer before a movie, the crowd ALWAYS claps, even if it's only for a second. I have never seen any movie get this kind of feedback, no, not even The Hulk and AVP.

Uh, unless you have something of worthwhile to offer in this thread, then save it on the HULK and AVP cause that seems to be the cheap, sorry excuse of an answer I've seen devoted to this subject.. I could care less whether I get my way or not.. It's not about getting my way, it's about pointing out the obvious to Warner Bros and how there going to supposedly turn this franchise around...

But you know that given the fact this is opening up in the summer, specifically June, that Warner Bros is going to shoot for big #'s on this... The 1 thing I do see going against this movie is the fact that it looks radically different from the Batman that people have come to expect, not to mention the fact that it has 2nd rate villains no one has ever heard of except comic lovers..

I think its a great idea its opening up in the summer... it requires the summer exposure .... what i dont agree with is it being the summer event of the year and how people are saying it should or is challenging ROTS for the summer crown .. thats just stupid. While i may say that the internet fever in terms of anticipation is right up there, one cannot say the same about the normal ctowd

they are trying to turn the franchise around .. whether they succeed or not is an entirely different issue.

In the words of Ahmed: A cutting blow What you said is very true.. There also making out to be too much like LOTR with all the treking through the mountain stuff instead of what people are accustomed to seeing in the character BATMAN, at least the normal crowd not associated with the comics like the hardcore fans are..

batman begins has no LOTR feel. anyone whos thinking it is imagining stuff. the trekking to the mountain is a brief scene, no more, the rest of the mountain scenes are no more than training.

Some great great stills from the trailer that you might not have catched due to the fast pace at the end.

the promo pics of this movie are just about the only things i haven't enjoyed. batman posing for a picture looks tooo retarded to me .. while it was cool the first time only cause we got to see the whole costume, they should just post pictures straight out of the reel now.

That's fine, there's some good things about "Forever". It's not my favorite, but its much better than Batman & Robin. My favorite is Batman Returns, please don't attack me.
