After POTC2, SR faces Pulse and Dupree on 3rd, and Lady, Super Ex, Clerks, and Monster house in 4th, and MV on 5th.
BB had the easier 2nd week competition, but after that, SR has much easier competition.
Strong weekdays kept Batman Begins floating and it had no competition in its second week, also its third week was on a 4th of july holiday. What hurt BB the most was C&TC weekend when most of its theaters were taken out. But other than that its 4th week didnt quite matter anymore since its weekends were below 13 million anyhow

This aint Wedding Crashers, by the 4th week it's numbers wont be anything significant for any type of compeition to be able to hurt it.

Exactly. Competition really only matters in the first two weeks. And Pirates will kill Superman in its second week. SR's second weekend drop will be too much to overcome.

not only that, they all seem to asusme superman will not a goodsmovie. what if it spiderman/batman begis quality? its more likely to be a new spiderman/batman begins then hulk, given the director. that would have to help sits legs too.

You know, I actually agree with you on this. Superman is likely to be quite good, since it has a competent director who has success making comic book films. If it's Batman Begins quality, it could break $200 million - just like Batman Begins did. But it won't help the opening, which won't be high enough to get it to $250 million.

Bewitched + Herbie + WOTW + F4 is about the same to me as POTC2 + Devil + Pulse + Dupree + Little man, mainly because aside from POTC2 and Dupree, the other films would be lucky to break 35m. No it's not. PotC2 is coming out in SR's 2nd week, WOTW came out in BB's 3rd week and F4 in it's 4th when it was only making 10m by then anyways, so F4 couldnt hurt BB.

Why even compare SR to BB? You guys think it'll make alot more then BB anyways. If you're changing your predictions to 200m then okay, compare it but not when you think it'll make 300m.

Well, I was the one who brought it up, and I think it'll make less than BB.

Their arguments should just be, well we think it'll make gangbusters OW so who gives a shit about PotC2, since it would've droped 55%+ anyways.

not even 55% SR will fall 50 or less %.
this movie is gonna be sooooo good people will be dieing to see it again.
120 x 50% = $60m 2nd weekend.
on it's way to $420m domestic haul.
by end of July 7-9th weekend SR will be around $230m.
It'll be the SITH of '06 girls & boys.
june 30th can't get here fast enough

So, excel, Magnus, revolutions, give me something... there's only one reason..........IT'S SUPERMAN STUPID!!! Are you referring to this, or this? Perhaps you must be referring to this and especially this
uh the first two.
there were only 2 superman films made before SR.

The only way Superman Returns will top $200 million at this point is if it is Batman Begins good and POTC 2 is Hulk or Reloaded bad.
$150-160 million total...I'm in.

I'll still join, I think. Though I might be a bit pessimistic on the total, hell, even Fantastic Four did that much but they don't have nearly as much cultural impact as Superman does.
Hmm...65/170.

Well, you WOULD get banned for a month if we lose (Assuming I get an OK by Loyal), so you have to be pretty confident that it won't top $75M.
