Post If Bryan Singer Had Directed X3 and Produced The Same Film
Honestly, the question I find most interesting is, "If Bryan Singer had directed X3 and produced the exact same film as Ratner did would people be complaining this much???? This was a Question I found over at another site that, well, begged to be asked?? It is a Good Question to pionder.. What if Singer, who's held on such a high pedestal from X-MEN Fans for the first 2 movie's, would've Directed this movie and produced the same film as Brett Ratner?? Would the comicbook afficianado's have complained equally as much if Singer had done this as they easily do with Ratner?? Discuss...

It's impossible to answer, because even if Singer set out to make the exact same movie, it would end up being three hours long and it would suck...

So true. Singer doesn't know how to pace his films. Even The Usual Suspects is slow. I hope the tide is turned when Superman Returns is released but it doesn't look like it from the trailers.

I dont think people are complaining much anymore anyways, seems to be getting good reaction so far. So I dont think we would've seen much of a difference if Singer directed it and we got the same exact product.

It's getting a good reaction?
People on opening night were telling me it blew.

The applause I heard kind of said otherwise.

I wont doubt that Singer would of handled a much better job since the X-men series are his babies so he has a better sense of how to set scenes and characters up. Not entirely Bret Ratner's fault since Fox used him at the very last minute so they wont fall behind schedule.Ratner did do a good job on X3 but Singer would have done it even better

It doesn't matter whether Singer, Ratner, Spielberg or Orson Welles directed it. You are so narrow-minded BKB, that you can't accept that people didn't like the movie because of the movie. It's not a conspiracy against Ratner, he wasn't even the main reason the movie didn't work

I find the movie as a good one and reaction from the crowd at my cinema was very good. It's probably Die-Hard fans that complain the most.

Your wrong.. Simply wrong.. You go to any other site, whether it's CHUD or RT and 95% of the bitchfest over this movie involves Ratner's Directing of this movie.. And don't even start insulting me.. I'll reach through the fiber optics of my computer monitor and pull your heart out.. :death:

i love how people dislike singer now even though they considered him a god in 2000-2004.

x3 would of blew had it not had all the death in it. they were the only source of drama.

i think Brett Ratner did a great job on X3. even though Singer directed X3. it will still a great movie the difference only at the duration. Singer version will take at least more than 2 hours.

I won't lie, one of my biggest gripes about the film is how seperated it feel from the toehr two BECAUSE of the change in directors. If Singer had directed, the whole series thus far would have flowed at leats a little better, because of their approach to certain aspects. So, ot answer your question, no, I wouldn't have complained as much if Singer had made the same film.

While I enjoyed X3 much more than I thought I would, it still had a LOT of problems.

If Singer had directed and produced the same film, I would've thought he'd taken a step down. But the simple fact is, he wouldn't have made the same film. Who's to say whether it would've been better or worse.
