Derby predictions:

1. Mission Impossible 3 $22m
2. Poseidon $22m
3. Just My Luck $10m
4. RV $7.5m
5. United 93 $3.1m
6. Stick It $2.7m
7. An American Haunting $2.5m
8. Akeelah and the Bee $1.6m
9. Goal! The Dream Begins $1.4m
10. The Sentinel $1.1m

I didn't think Goal would bomb quite as badly as most people here, but I didn't want to risk too much by going higher than I did. Yahoo reviews are encouraging there.

Goal tracking at $8 million some weeks ago just doesn't seem right to just bomb under $1 million. Soccer is a way more popular movie sport, and the trailer was actually good, didn't seem boring.

I still think Goal is going to do OK. I'm thinking in the $3 million range now, give or take $0.5 million. Has a soccer movie ever bombed? Well I guess She's The Man, Kicking and Screaming, and Bend it like Beckham have been the only notable ones.

Post IT'S TIME FOR THE BKB RONNIE'S PARKING LOT REPORT
That's right.. Once again, it's time for the BKB RONNIE'S 20 CINE PARKING LOT REPORT, where I base my weekend box office predictions off major blockbuster movie's coming out for that weekend.. This weekend, we have POSEIDON and the holdover of MI:3(That REALLY deserves to do a little better than what it has).. Based on the 8:30 PM evening showings, the Lot was 1/2 FULL meaning this could be a split amongst folks wanting to see MI:3 over POSEIDON or vice versa.. I'm gonna say that this weekend, there will be some controversy from both studios responsible for their films in what film REALLY is #1 for the weekend by a 500,000 to 1 Million.. PARAMOUNT will try to do Damage Control with MI:3 and say their film is #1 when it really goes to POSEIDON, but both movie's being pretty close..

POSEIDON= 19.2 Million

MI:3=18 Million for the weekend

That sounds about right for Poseidon, but you're off on Mission: Impossible III.

Even if Poseidon wins on Friday, MI3 will make up the difference over the weekend.

MI:3 has experienced 70% drops on a weekday and I think the casual moviegoer fed up with Cruise's nonsense known as his personal life have spoken and it's a shame cause the movie really is pretty good and much better than the last film for certain.. I'm smelling a DVD Release date for MI:3 very soon, probably sooner than expected..
