To get back on topic:

The full-length theatrical trailer for PotC2: Dead Man's Chest will debut online on Monday, May 1, via the winner of the MySpace trailer contest.

On Friday, May 5, the trailer will debut in theaters. No word yet on which movie it'll debut with, but most rumors are pointing toward MI:3. Hoot's a possibility, but not a huge one. MI:3 is the most probable.

It'll be with M:I-3, guaranteed. None of the films released next week are Disney films anyways (Hoot is New Line), and I think Disney is smarter than that.

If I don't make it to Branson next weekend, I'll be at MI:3 first thing Saturday morning... so I can take advantage of AMC's $4 mornings and won't feel obligated to stay for the movie because I wouldn't have paid too much money.

Honestly. I'm really not interested in MI:3 at all. And if I weren't so eager to see a theatrical trailer for PotC2 on the big screen, I'd skip MI:3 altogether and wait for the next big movie to possibly have the PotC2 trailer... But that's an "if". I AM eager to see the PotC2 trailer on the big screen, so I'll be at MI:3, but won't stay. My mom can even park and wait for me to get in and out....

I've never done this before, not even for a Star Wars movie (well, that's 'cause the SW trailers were all attached to movies I was interested in....). It'll be an odd experience to be sure.

This club is looking more reasonable the closer we get to release. Right now I'm thinking 400m but you never know, the new trailer couldn't have been more effective.

After that *brilliant* new trailer, I'd go for a 400m club (do we have one for PotC2?). The only reason I'm not aiming for 500m is because it's a very rare occasion, and not even Revenge of the Sith could manage it.

$500 m is excessive, but #2 of all time could definitely be in the cards if there is a Shrek 2 effect, but $500 m is even past what Shrek 2 would have done, so I think its too high.

Sith couldn't even manage 400m, so it's not a fair comparison. Star Wars has a much narrower audience than Pirates. More rabid, yes, but also much narrower. So Pirates 2 is more likely to get to 400m than Sith was.

Right now, I'm saying $360 million without any word of quality, which could very well push it past $400 million.

Yeah, in the last week my anticipation for this movie has skyrocketed. It's now my #1 movie of the year.

I'm starting to believe the 350 mil+ and 400 mil+ counts, though not totally convinced yet.

500 million is pretty steep but if any movie does it I'd have to think it would be this one. I doubt it will happen but I would absolutely love to see it do it. The trailer was the coolest trailer ever! I think I have the whole thing memorized...
