Cube Zero





It's actually not that bad.

Well, for a DTV flick.

It's actually surprisingly good, and better in many ways then the sequel. The problem this time around is that it feels way to much like just a rehash of the first and in some ways the second film. It adds a few twists, but keeps most of the same material, and many of the same methods of death. The ending is infinately worse this time around, and in many ways utterly dissapointing as it leaves no resolution.

Overall though it isn't too bad, it could have been better but it is at least slightly enjoyable. B-

I just say that I was never very impressed with the first film, but it did have a very original idea and a mostly successful execution of it. This second sequel (I jave never actually seen the the first one) mostly just rehashes the first film. There is some REALLY nice gore and the bits inside of the Cube are entertaining, but it does not have the suspense of the first film and the ending that teases us with answers, but ultimately doesn't provide any is very disappointing.

One Question!

I already seen Cube, but do i need to see Hypercube to understand this one?!

Nah.

All the Cube films are stand-alone films, I'd say.

You know, i think it would of been for the best not to go outside the Cube at all, it was stupid and completly ridiculous and it made the movie even less scary than it already is. The chip on the black guy was just laughable idea!

they lost there touch of originality!, and im really not interested on seeing Hypercube anymore

Pretty disappointing prequel to the first two films, it's got none of the suspense of the first nor the interest of the second. By concentrating on the guys who 'run' the cube, it basically takes away any of the sense of tension inside the cube, as we simply don't care about the characters inside. Much of the film is simply boring, and it only becomes truly terrible with the introduction of the glass-eyed superior and the green-eyed crazy marine. After that, though, it just descends into over-the-top unintentional hilarity. The ending is fitting though, tying it back into the first one in an indirect way. The script is terrible, the acting mediocre at best, and the direction unimpressive. A much lesser follow-up.
