And POTC2 isn't a fanboy film?
In what sense is that a fanboy film? Oh yeah, you're right, I always see hardcore POTC fans out there, hates those bastards. Those little kids with their POTC dvds, I hate them.

POTC2 main auidence is teens. Is it as big of a fanbase as a comic-book hero like Superman or Batman? Probably not. But its def. huge and if yahoo buzz was even the least bit of accurate it would have it in the top 20.

Thing is, I'm not putting yahoo buzz down because of SR at all. My beef with it is no POTC2(and no MI3 considring its coming up in less than 6 days).
It's core fan group isnt the type that would try to find out any info they can about it, it's not a big fanboy film. Again, big difference between SR and POTC when it comes to fanbase.

I know it's been hinted at in the thread, but has anyone posted the article saying that the trailer has now been confirmed to be attached with Poseidon and MI:III?

http://www.bluetights.net/news.php?id=271

It's obviously a smart move on their part to attach it to these two high profile films. I wonder if it'll also be attached to The Da Vinci Code as well. If it's attached to these three huge films in May, and then with an overload of advertising in June, in terms of toys, magazines, etc., than this could be much bigger than I was expecting, and I was one of a few who thought it was going to do well.

I think it's pretty likely that it'll be attached to X-Men III.

What is REALLY new in this day and age...

And you can only do so much with a man flying through air.

The flying looks too similiar to Neo flying in Matrix Reloaded and in MR they did it with a much higher velocity. Im not saying anything against it but the CGI is hardly groundbreaking and doesnt wow me that much

ComingSoon.net's Superhero Hype! caught up with Poseidon directorWolfgang Petersen who says he is still interested in bringing Batman vs. Superman (aka "World's Finest") to the big screen.

"I still think that the Superman/Batman clash, putting them together in one film, would be absolutely fantastic," said Petersen. "I hope it still will happen because they are so different as we know. The dark Batman and the sort of goody goody Superman. It's so nice to play with both and see how the dynamic between the two also including fighting between the two how that would work."

Petersen added he's always interested in pursuing this idea and hopes it will work out.

i hope it happens too :D

However.

I am lowering my predict. And I am doing this not because the trailer was sub-par, as the SR trailer was everything I could have thought it would be. But the POTC2 trailer was just too damn good. It just looks too good. Legs will get hurt even more than I thought, plus I even htink opening will get hurt a bit as more general anticaption will be more towards POTC2

OW: 95m

Total: 300m

Glad you see the light, although I dont agree with your prediction. Its nice to know that you arent totally biased. You get a thumbs up from me. I dont care what was posted about you in the other thread

As neither a big Superman fan nor disliker of it, I thought it was a good trailer. It didn't really have a huge money shot that would encourage me to see it opening weekend, but I'll probably catch it in theaters though. It was much better than the teaser though as stuff actually happened.

After seeing the trailer I gotta say this movie gonna have to live on WOM to make it passed 200m no matter the marketing, not very interesting.

Fuck Moriarty, i have never agreed with him, he should go back to writing mortal kombat 3.

Anyway, the trailer was fine but if wb wants the film to make a serious ammount of $$$ then they should release one with much more action because thats what the new trailer lacked.

Well so far theres not alot of great things I see coming from this movie, so the script sucking makes sense.

...After watching the final trailer I have to say that I'm not suprised if this crawls barely over 150 million. I thought this was a strong candidate for a 200+ million gross, but the trailer is just really underwhelming. Action looks rather unimpressive and I didn't buy the drama scenes at all. It's a badly structured trailer and will harm the film a lot, I think.
