Honestly, while my name is the best(duh), the branding should be something film related.
Problem is, I've been looking in the dictionary and pretty much no words film-related begin with K or J.
...Maybe it should just be something totally obscure like Knickers Jackson, just to sound sophisticated.

Well, there's Kino.

I like your Knickers Jackson suggestion though.

I have gotten used to the name and like it
I think that it's a great name especially if FWB is going to create other sister sites. For example if a screenwriting site is going to get started it could be called worldofsw (WoSW for screen writers) or even worldoflm (WoLM for Loyal...) and if you ever do another site it could be one with baba's name or whatever but at least that way you get the world of something consistent and it could be seen more as a brand that way.

World of is kind've a broad thing to nail down though. Type in World of in google and the results will be huge. Other than World of Warcraft, it's also really common for all fansites.

Just make "KJ" a funky mascot. He could have a movie reel for a head, and he could have lots of attitude that will appeal to the teen demographic. He could be in the corner of every page, saying hip things with the words "dawg" and "yo" in it. Give him a skateboard too.
Or, you could create a character called "Mr. KJ" that is really cranky and writes comical reviews of movies. He would hate every movie and rate them on a scale of 1 to 4 bombs. Mr. KJ would be so popular that everybody flocks to his "world" to read the reviews.

That's actually a really good idea.

Hopefully no one is reading this thread.

That's exactly what you said when I told you I was going to try to put a squirrel in my butt. A day at the emergency room taught me not to trust you.

Or maybe KJ should stay as Karl Jones or whatever Eagle's name is, having it upfront that he owns the place. Like Lee's Movie Info, except smarter with better people running it.
Same idea with the single guy supposibly behind it, except this time he isn't fictional.

i tell people its an inside joke. then we both proceed to give that "Aaah, i understand look, a little "hehe", followed by the "I hear ya" gaze. then we moveon to something more important.

In all the time I've put squirrel's in my butt, I've never had a problem. I can't help it if they find something untoward about your bottom.
Seriously though, when it comes to movie sites, I rarely check out the places that just print the news. I prefer colourful commentary and funny writing to compliment the news, none of this "Just the facts, ma'am" mumbo jumbo. C.H.U.D.com aren't necessarily always the first to present the news, but I always prefer reading it from them. Devin Feraci and Dave Davis are funnier than most, and it generally takes a few good gags to keep my interest going.
It's the same with Iwatchstuff.com... a site that's incredibly slow on news, but makes up for it with hilarious commentary.
I tell you, this cranky Mr. KJ of yours could prove to be a goldmine!

I don't think anyone could pull it off besides Tony or Snrub, maybe Loyal.
Hell I bet Tony could do it without ever even going to watch the movies.

[randomness]
What about a router site? I like World of KJ. If people are stopping to ask you what it is, then they'll probably remeber it better than generic-movie-title site. Rottentomatoes doesn't specifically have the word movie in it either.
But I was thinking, what about FilmWorld of Kj? And maybe one (or the other) could be "redirected." So, if people do to worldofkj, it gets redirected to the filmworldofkj site, or vice versa. Is that even possible?

I really like Kino Video actually. Loyal, we should partner up with them and New Yorker. Those two are the biggest of the indie and interntional rental distribuotors. New Yorker has a monopoly on African film right now becuase it picked up on them decades ago, long before anyone else was even eyeing the continent, and Kino has great international and classics selection.
Anyways.....

It's really simple... just say things like, "Watching Failure to Launch is like watching director Tom Dey take a giant crap on your face"....
Of course it would work so much better if it was actually an original idea, and I hadn't ripped it off.
My mascot idea = Poochie (from the Simpsons)

Tony would be absolutely awesome. Andaroo would be great as well, come to think of it.
Maybe we're missing something though. Which one person creates havoc and chaos wherever he goes? Which one poster is notorious across the internet for his amazing ability to piss people off? He's charismatic, he's audacious, he's outta control...

We should be allowing blogs on the main site for users who sign up very soon (free of course) ... my god would I love it if BKB started one.

Just start an "Ask BKB" column.
Once a week, someone posts a question to BKB. Something like, "Hey BKB, I was wondering what your thoughts are on Brokeback Mountain and gay sex in films. Clarissa, Maine x"
Give him time to come up with a suitably lengthy, typically BKB response, and hey presto.

This is one of the best threads to ever hit this forum. (The best being the 12th time Mav and Snurb spiraled into flames)....
Oh, and when I tell people about KJ they seem distracted by the name... much harder to lure them here. Just my 2 cents. (I still like the name though...)
