No, just not popular enough to warrant more screens, I suspect.

Movietickets.com has it listed as 120 minutes long. Still, it's odd that it only has four showtimes, when even longer films have got five showtimes at this theater.

I've seen it listed at 126 minutes.

Generally, anything over 125 minutes has less than five showtimes per screen.

Wait, that is a bit long. I'm surprised.

They probably didn't bother scheduling a very early show and instead chose to shuffle things to allow late night showings on that screen....

And with that I've decided to stay out of this forum. I am consistently wrong about every single thing.

My theater is getting 2 screens of Sentinel and Silent Hill, and one screen of American Dreamz and Friends with Money.

Hill is getting the two 575 seaters. Sentinel is getting the 400 seater and 275 seater. American Dreamz and Friends with Money I heard will get dumped to the 160 seaters. Scary Movie will get the 400 seater, 300 seater, the 240 seaters and the 190 seater.

Interesting.

I'm surprised they didn't cut off a minute or so to try and get that fifth showing. That's pretty big.

im sure some of the smaller theatre chains that dont require 15 mins of previews plus time to watch a preshow can have 5 shows easily...but in the big market theatres it cant be done if a running time comes in around 120 mins plus previews

and for the record the run time is 125 mins (trust me i did the showtimes today) plus at least 10-15 mins of previews so you are looking ay 135-140 min runtime

Last time I was at your theater Animosity, for Inside Man, there were 18 minutes of previews. Seriously I timed them.

Freaking insane if you ask me. ;)

There are some changes at my theater.

Silent Hill and Sentinel each got an extra print. Now, each movie is getting 3 screens (13 showtimes). Hill will still take the 575 seaters, and Sentinel will be in a 400 seater, but there will be some shifting on the Scary Movie 4 theaters and the extra prints for the openers.

Friends With Money and American Dreamz are still on 1 screen (4 showtimes).

Standing Still Also opens here (4 showtimes).

Scary Movie 4 will be on 4 full screens plus one more in the night.

I think you'll like that, Libs. Much better than American Dreamz, that's for sure.

Matinee Report.

Silent Hill (this is playing in the two 575 seaters and a 275 seater)
12:00 - 37
12:45 - 34
1:30 - 29
2:50 - 69
4:00 - 59
4:45 - 65
5:45 - 111
(This will definetely sell out later tonight).

Sentinel (this is playing in the 400 seater, 275 seater, and 240 seater)
12:15 - 38
1:15 - 38
2:15 - 41
3:15 - 34
4:15 - 41
5:00 - 35
5:50 - 58
(This is doing pretty well here, especially for an Adult Thriller on 3 screens, it may sell out in the smaller houses later tonight).

Amercian Dreamz (it is playing in the 175 seater).
both the 1:10 and 4:10 got 20 people. For being on 1 screen, this is not good at all.

Friends with Money
1:55 - 16
4:50 - 4
(No hit here).

Standing Still
1:25 - 3
4;20 - 1
(Ha)

Among holdovers.

Scary Movie 4 was nowhere near impressive as last week. Matinee shows averaged 25 people (far from the 95 average from last week's matinees), and playing in smaller theaters this weekend, this will definetely have a Friday to Friday fall of at least 70%.

Ice Age and The Wild have been holding pretty well from Good Friday. Shows for Ice Age averaged around 22 people, while the Wild averaged 20 people. I see Friday to Friday drops to be no more than 45%.

Benchwarmers held on impressively here. The four matinees shows here average 46 people.

Thank You for Smoking, however, is falling off the radar.

All in all, it was pretty good matinee session, it looks to be a solid night.

The Sentinel - 8:10 PM showing
400 Seater Theater.... 35% capacity (Good for the location)

Trailers - Pathfinder, The Omen, DV Code

The audiance seemed to enjoy it. About the same crowd for Silent Hill next door at the same time... same size theater as well. This is a quiet theater in the midst of a bunch of clubs and whatnot. It's actually busier during the daylight hours then around 10PM. Like I said, 35% capacity shows some interest - I saw just a bit more for I, Robot and War of the Worlds in the same theater and roughly the same times, for instance.

The Rocky Horror showing seemed to be more popular though

American Dreamz - 4/21/06
7:40pm showing
30% full (357-seat auditorium)

TRAILERS
The Break-Up (laughs)
The Lake House (some talk)
United 93 (some talk) [this was the 'A Look Inside' featurette and not the theatrical trailer for some reason]

The movie was alright. There were some laughs throughout the film but no real reaction from anyone at the exit.

Only sellout tonight was The Benchwarmers @ 8:30. The theater and the area around it was PACKED though as they're hosting the Palm Beach International Film Festival. The only real celebrity that I know of that was there tonight was Dennis Hopper but there were bound to be more.
