A Bug's Life adjusts to $229 m, so I don't think Cars will go under that, even with the intense competition.

Yeah, but matatonio and O have it making over $100 million total.
I don't think it'll even make $50 million.

It's Gibson's follow up to a $400 m TPOTC, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt until I actually see some reviews for it. It could go either way (ie success or massive flop), but its August, and really weird stuff always does well in that month...

Pirates of the Carribean 2 - $400m
Cars - $275m
The Da Vinci Code - $250m (I think it also depends on the rating)
Superman Returns - $245m
Ice Age 2 - $230m
Click - $200m
Charlotte's Web - $190m
Mission: Impossible 3 - $180m
X-Men: The Last Stand - $175m
Casino Royale (If it's good, it'll be huge) - $150m
The Santa Clause 3 - $140m
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - $130m
You, Me and Dupree - $125m
Scary Movie 4 - $120m
World Trade Center: $115m - It depends on the rating and how politically biased it is. If it's a straight forward telling of the story (From Oliver Stone, I'm not expecting that), it'll be big. For now, that's where I'm putting it.
The Breakup - $110m

I'm very uncertain about Lady In The Water. It has the widest potential. It could imo do as low as $60 m, and go much higher if its an actual good film. But I'm leaning towards it getting under $100 m. Three reasons. First Paul Giammati doesn't have as much starpower as some of the earlier films have had. Second, WB is taking on this one, making me think that there was a reason Disney passed on this that might be a reason for audiences to "pass" on it. Third, its coming off of the Village. Here's a list of the worst weekend-total multipliers for films opening over $50 m:
45 Van Helsing $51,748,040 43.10% $120,177,084 5/7/2004 2.32235045
46 8 Mile $51,240,555 43.90% $116,750,901 11/8/2002 2.278486269
49 The Village $50,746,142 44.40% $114,197,520 7/30/2004 2.250368511
28 Hulk $62,128,420 47.00% $132,177,234 6/20/2003 2.127484233
These 4 films are the only $50 m + openers to ever have a multiplier under 2.5. Using the Hannibal/Red Dragon (down 44%), Tomb Raider/Tomb Raider II (down 50%), Matrix II/III (down 51%) comparisons, I'm going to say that Lady in the Water takes a 40% drop from The Village to end with a $68-70 m total. Reviews would have to be glowing, the film would have to be really good, and there would have to be a real lack of competition for this to push past $100 m imo.
