This was one of the best episodes of the season. So basically the Others are the Dharma people. They just glue there beards on so they look rugged island people. I wonder if "him" is the asian scientist on the film.
The season is picking up steam now, but we have another damn repeat again next week. I for one vote for Lost to start in Jan and run non-stop ala 24 for its entire season.

Notes:
- Sun was a mother. Or maybe had an abortion? Something is there.
- Kate should have taken all of the flashlights.
- Claire was obviously drugged the entire time. Or else she's just a moron.
- Awesome... the Others are totally faking it.
- The girl in Claire's flashback is Alex. (duh!)
- Holy shit, there's a full cadre of surgeons on the island.
- Rosseau trying to save Claire.
- I totally love Rosseau.
- This was the most female-centric episode of the series.
This is one of those episodes that makes you believe that this whole series is "pretty much" planned out all of the way through. The roots of this episode go back to the introduction of Ethan wayyyyyyy back in Solitary. Sure, some of it is spontaneous and changes depending on characters, etc. but there is an overall arc to the story which really, really is *there*.

They are only 3 episodes ahead of the series at all times
I get the feeling that Libby is a lesbian.

Good points. I'd agree with you on the last paragraph if I hadn't just tonight watched the disk 7 documentaries from the DVD set where they say that when they slapped the show together they only had the vaguest idea what direction it was going to go in.

They have 7 seasons worth of the direction of the show. They say that on the DVD. They say they know what the monster is, the basic direction of the series, etc. I think that way in which it happens (the minor plot points, the personalities, etc.) can change and are obviously altered to fit the situation and the actor.
What I got from those same DVDs is that there is a larger story arc which is being serviced by more spontaneous character moments. Claire's story line in general really seems to be the one that is the most thought out at this point, maybe other than Kate and Sawyer's (which were the ones that seemed to be the most important to the show).
I think having it both way can both help the show (they can change direction if it is getting too predictable to an extent, can alter the story to fill in actors who might want to leave the show) and hinder the show (X-Files scenario... stretching out a series... complicating the storyline with so much garbage that you end up contradicting yourself, etc.).
This, to me, is the third time this series has taken a major, major shift. There is very much a "Lost before Maternity Leave" and "Lost after Maternity Leave".

I haven't watched them all yet, those comments I said were from the casting one. It was pretty interesting to see Naveen Andrews talk, he's sooo different from his character in terms of things like accent, mannerisms and such.

BTW... the next episode is a Sun/Jin episode, and apparently it involes...
[spoil]A love triangle (in flashback?). We all know that Sun was ready to get rid of Jin physically right before they left... perhaps she had a little something-something on the side? Everyone is "dirty" on the island... Sun is one of those characters that is, at this point, wayyyyyyy too "clean".[/spoil]
Since they have only been on the island for about 50 days... one wonders if...
[spoil]Sun's child is going to wind up not being Jin's[/spoil]
Ooooooooooooh!

Was the guy who in the hallway said, what do you want to tell him > the same guy who spoke when they took Walt from the boat?
His voice sounded familar.

You obviously didn't see The English Patient.
Last night's ep was ok, not bad, not good.

I did see the English Patient but I blocked most of it out of my mind afterwards much like Claire and her lost two weeks.

I liked the ep, but Claire is my least favorite, wish they could have killed her instead of Shannon I block her out of my mind.

A friend wanted to see it so I rewatched it and have a few more comments:
Why did Claire either lie or be mistaken to the french woman about her daughter? I'm referring to her telling the french woman that she saw a young woman who fit the description and how she tried to save her and all that. What Claire saw was a brief image of a girl about Alex's age who didn't speak or do anything and then she later saw a 30something dark haired American woman try to take her -- Claire -- to safety. Was she mixing the two moments together in her mind, confused?
Gale is an other, I am convinced, I thought it was too obvious last week so was holding out that there was more to it.
From the previews it appears that Sun [spoil]might be pregnant. If that's the case, hmm, what are the odds, 3 women have 3 kids on the island? Seems a bit coincidental. [/spoil]
Given that they had a full working surgery and are obviously faking rusticness, what do you guys say now as your revised theory? It's looking more likely that there was no crash. If that is the case, don't you think the audience will be unhappy?

Obviously the Others like their babies, probably with tartar sause...
[spoil]If John Locke can wind up on a beach with full use of his legs, it's completely possible, in fact, even more realistic that Sun could have been inseminated[/spoil]
The kicker here is Vincent and Kate. The producers say Vincent "saw what happened" and Kate was the ONLY one on board who didn't go unconcious.

Was the dark haired woman who helped Claire escape supposed to be the french woman's daughter? I thought her daughter was only in her teens and that woman looked very adult to me.
There's something else I noticed the past few weeks. It started out subtely so I didn't mention it but they seem to be making Locke dumber. With Sawyer fooling him, Sayid easily convincing him to let him torture without much of an argument, and now Henry Gale messing with Locke's head in a very obvious way.

I know this show has many people that love it, but something made it hard for me to sustain any interest. I couldn't find one likeable character. Jack is an ass, or a Jackass, if you will. *rimshot*
*dead silence*
Locke? Charlie? Ana-Lucia? None of them are likeable.
Maggie Grace's character was, but they killed her. It's hard to really enjoy a show when you don't have any characters that you can root for.

Her name's Tania Raymonde. When I saw her, I could've sworn I'd seen her in something else...
Turns out it was Malcolm In The Middle. She played the geeky girl who had a crush on Malcolm for a while (I particularly remember an episode where she developed breasts, and tried to hide them under a turtleneck sweater).
And for the record, she's a mere 17 years of age.

It's worth mentioning that she's turned into quite the hottie.
