Why don't they use the heroin for good purposes? Can't it be made into something usable for medicine other than hard narcotics?

Finally saw the last episode. Pretty good, but Eko's episode was still my favorite of the 2nd season so far. I did like the confrontation with the others a lot, but not that Libs said it was the naked guy from Sideways, I have hard time considering Zeke menacing anymore

I like the actor who plays Eko and I probably would have liked his episode more if it wasn't for me recognizing it as one of the most overused hollywood cliches: one brother becomes a gangster, one a priest. That has been done so many times. Too bad the actor who plays Eko doesn't have a short pronounceable name or he'd go farther.

True. In some ways, he reminds me of Djimon Honsou.

Just watched the episode...
Pretty great. Looks like Lost is back.
"This music is fairly depressing." Heh.

Heh, I want to see them put on a jammin' record, and have a few of them dance around. Seeing Sayid dance would be hysterical. But... with the death of Shannon just like two days ago in the "Lost-World", I doubt he'd be so chipper.
I'm surprised the actor who plays Eko didn't change his real name to something more pronouncable. It's nice that he probably is very proud of his name and where he's from, but when you're in Hollywood, simple names are usually a necessity if your name is difficult to pronounce (or your real name just sucks).

Yeah, I saw his name on a Jimmy Kimmel commercial, it was four lines length on the mini-screen. I'm sure he'll change it sometimes, it's just too much.

'Lost' cast members find big pay rises
Mon Jan 23, 1:22 AM ET
The cast of ABC's "Lost" has even more to cheer about beyond the show's recent Golden Globe win for best drama series.
"Lost" producer Touchstone Television has offered all original members of the large ensemble cast a substantial salary bump in exchange for an additional year to the actors' current contracts. The studio's pre-emptive offer would see the actors earn almost $80,000 each an episode next season, the show's third, up from a range of about $20,000-$40,000 for most cast members this season.
All original cast members, including Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Josh Holloway, Naveen Andrews, Dominic Monaghan, Terry O'Quinn, Jorge Garcia, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim and Harold Perrineau, have been offered the same deal and are expected to take it. Fox, who plays the pivotal role of Jack, is said to have earned an extra bonus of at least $250,000.
However, in the spirit of the show where no character is safe from being killed off or otherwise removed from the mysterious island where the series is set, the actors are said to have no guarantees about the length of their tenure on the show.

This is already the worst episode of the season.
*Thanks* for making a Charlie-centric episode, writers. Thanks.
I did like Claire slapping him.

This is on, but I am nowhere near a TV. Oh, well.
Let me know if something substantial or revelatory happens.
Hahahahaha.

The very thing I've been hoping would happen to Jack. I'll bet it feels good when that happens to a character you hate.

i liked the episode. sorry libs. charlie is just about the only interesting character left for me on the show. even locke these days is no fun.
oh btw, lets add to the list of potentially dangerous people on this flight.
charlie ... almost sleepwalked a baby to death.

Charlie is going more and more down the drain. It wouldn't surprise me to see him feel so rejected by his side that he becomes the "weak link" in a Lost castaways vs others situation, where he might change sides. He might also get back at Locke, but they'd never cut Locke from the show. I think this episode really was filler for Charlie to do something really really big, probably on Claire's episode that's coming up...

Charlie has been infected with 'the sickness' I suppose. He's gonna join the darkside, maybe already has. Note him going all Vader at the end. Locke drove him to it to. Locke believes everybodys crazy visions but doesn't believe Charlie, accuses him of being a druggie (again), beats the shit out of him, and then saves his biggest weakness. Locke is evil. They brought it Eko to be Lockes counter as Jack wasn't working too good in that role.
Next ep is gonna be nuts. Sun gets kidnapped! Bout time something interesting happens to her. She's been the dullest character by far this season.

I've been a huge Locke fan since season 1, but there was something about today's episode that I really didn't like. I can't put my finger on it, but it seems like Eko is my fav character hands down now, as Locke is slipping. It wasn't anything necessarily he did w/ Charlie or anything, but he just seemed a bit off today.

Agreed. I was so hoping Locke would beat up Charlie when he took Aaron AGAIN, and lo and behold, he did!

After a few great episodes, this one put me to sleep. It felt like a mid-season show that is just treading ground.
As for the plot, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we'll find later that Charlie did the right thing in this episode, even though it appeared he was a giant dumbass to everyone now. And, I hope that Hurley gets it on with Libby. They make a sexy couple.

The only good part about this episode was Hurley/Libby and of course Locke punching Charlie. Why oh why did we have to be subjected to him in a diaper? Is this some cruel joke? Next new episode looks good, whenever it airs.

Charlie doesn't bother me, although I think his episode "The Moth" is the worst the series has produced to this date, and the second episode "Homecoming" had the worst flashbacks ever.
The flashbacks here weren't great (fortunately, they were not plentiful) but I really, again, like the island story that is developing on the island.
I too agree that the sickness is real and is "here". Locke is pretty unhinged here. He's gone from being the one "in tune" with the island, and now everyone else is having visions and has a purpose... I wonder if he's... well... jealous?
Sun is going to be othernapped! OH MY!

I thought the flashbacks were all right. Charlie was tolerable. But all the hooplah over the baptism I found silly.
Again, just an average episode for me.
