That was fucking awsome. For a second there i thought Cloey was going to be another victim. Glad she's still kicking arse.
 You'll be missed President Palmer.

No worries. It's been confirmed via EW that Jack will continue on, beyond the show, into feature films. Once Jack leaves the show however, it will continue on with new characters.
24 isnt going anywhere anytime soon.

Great season premiere. Probably the best yet. Tomorrow's episodes look INTENSE.
Poor Palmer and Michelle.

Indeed.
I'm very glad 24 is the one show I go unspoiled for, I don't think the various deaths would have has as much of an impact if I knew before hand.
Can a political wife ever be not crazy or evil on this show?

Oh that Jean Smart... love her kookiness.
Hey! That chick from Rapa Nui is her assistant! Hmm, she seems suspicious...

Hmm a crowded main regular cast list:
Kiefer Sutherland
Kim Raver (heh, the first girlfriend to potentially last another season as a main cast member)
Mary Lynn Rajskub
Gregory Itzin
James Morrison
Roger Cross
Louis Lombardi
and Jean Smart
I assume Sean Astin would be the 9th, unless he gets "Special Guest Star" billing.
Side note: "I think I look like a wedding cake." *dunks face into sink full of water* <--- wasn't that great?

Yes. GREAT introduction.
And yes, I too noticed the very long main cast list. Wasn't Carlos Bernard on there in the first episode too? The longest that I remember before was during season two, when we had Jack, Kim, David, Tony, Sherry, George Mason and Kate Warner.
And that brings the total number of peopleon the main cast over the course of the series to... 21.
And if Tony dies, Jack will be the only charecter to appear in all five seasons, and Kim will be the only other one to have survived them all (As far as we know).
Edit: Oh, and they'll probably give Astin a "Special Guest Star" billing. I have a feeling he won't be around long.

Yes, carlos Bernand is in the main cast for the first episode. And there is a promo pic floating around somewhere with the eight of them (including Carlos). Cool pic though, glossy and shiny against a dark gray background.
Kim appears midway, so is C. Thomas Howell (whom I think plays her lover? heh).
I was reading 24 Insider forums and I guess Laurie Metcalfe (Jackie on "Roseanne") has been replaced by Jayne Atkinson (Syriana) because she was supposedly not "bitchy" enough for her role.

OMG!! I was left is utter shock when Palmer was killed only to be followed by Michelle. This show is by far and away the best show ever to be on television. They will throw things at you that you never imagined. I'm going to miss Palmer but I love the fact that they weren't scared of killing his character.
Tonights two hours looks amazing with Jack in a Die Hard type situation. When Tony becomes conscious I bet he and Jack will kick some ass.
I love this show.

I think Tony is going to die in the OR at CTU. His 9 lives are just about up.
It seems as if the hostage situation will resolve itself tonight. What an insane 4 hours.

I think Tony will stay alive. Outside of Jack, he is the only charecter to appear in all five seasons, so they might want to keep him alive.
Also, it averaged 16.2M viewers last night, with its first hour getting 17M - a record for the show. W00t!

Goodness, Jean Smart is psycho and would actually use the "rape" card just to get the key card. I LOVE HER!

Just a question before I read the thread (fear of spoilers)...
What episode were you guys last seen? I've got only first two, Chevensky just took a pill and terrorists seiged airport terminal. Is that episode current one?

That's near the end of the second hour (Sunday episodes) so yes, they're pretty current.
Yesterday was hour 3 and 4, the airport hostage scenes.

Well, I think I actually liked Monday nights two-parter more than the previous nights (didn't think that would be possible).
Sean Astin was a brilliant addition to the show. As for Jean Smart, should could end up being the most outlandish and creative character ever for the series (sorry Former Mrs Palmer).
In case you're keeping track of threats:
1. Assasination
2. Nuke
3. Bio Hazard
4. Radioactive Fallout
5. Nerve Gas
