Tonight's episode is going well (pretty funny) but the twist regarding the two girls was rather predictable. I did chuckle at NPH's line regarding flight attendants: "They'll be sure to get your tray in the full upright position." Also humorous was his incessant declaration that he is an "International businessman" in danger of missing an "International business meeting."

Overall, tonight's ep. was another entertaining half-hour of TV. I wonder if it has a new episode next week or the first rerun of the season?

Like Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, kindof wish this show would be alittle more on the edge.

Anyone wish this show was called " Suit Up " with Doogie as the star. Then he could be wild and drive his friends crazy with his stupid antics.

Another good episode, NPH was funny as usual. It even featured a homage to our most favoured line:

"We're building an igloo. Its gonna be legenddarry...Snow-Suit Up!"

I wasn't at home, so it was between recording Kitchen Confidential and this, and I chose Kitchen.

Hope it didn't magically become funny last night.

Not from what I saw, I think your decision to tape KC over this was wise.

I still think the show is very funny, I'm surprised so many people don't like it at all.

Like it some, it is just a little low key and right now there is alot, too much, tv to watch right now.

I feel the same way about Boston Legal, which airs tonight at 10PM on ABC.

No ratings for Monday today?

Think the problem with Boston Legal is that the fans liked previous years better either as The Practice / Boston Legal.

Even now, the show casting / feeling is even so much different than BL Year 1.

I finally saw this show and was disappointed. The series suffers from the problems of most comedy series ever since the mid 90s: too fast, just throwing out relentless lame jokes at rapid fire speed in hoping that something works. Instead of building characters you care about in a believable way. Shows like Taxi, Seinfeld and Cheers took time to build characters and weren't just 100mph talking fast like these shows.

They built character, just not as much in this episode.

I still don't know why people are down on this show, I think it's charming and very cute.

By far the best successor to Friends that I think we're going to see.

Friends had many moments that actually made me laugh, which is why I think the show worked beyond the window dressing for so long.

This show just tries to force laughs down your throat, and it offends me that it would dare to take such liberties like I was some cheap whore.

Seriously, it tries too hard, and I think that's why it's pushing people away. I did catch a second of it tonight, and saw a genuinely funny part when the newscaster girl (can't remember her name) fell down (off camera) in the horse manure or whatever she said ewwww about. If it would just present the jokes in a more smooth fashion, instead of having a busy laugh track operator, I think it would go over a lot better with people.

I liked the show again tonight. The 'dump on Birthday' leading to 'dump on answering machine on Birthday' leading to 'dump on answering machine during Birthday surprise party' and Alyson Hannigan anchoring it all was great.

Only two criticisms:
a)They should begin to cut the 2030 kid's scenes, maybe not directly, but eventually they should eliminate that segment of the show. It just hurts the continuinty.

b)They should spend less time in the bar. When every episode is based in the bar for a lot of the time, it kind-of takes away from the identity of each episode from each other.

Overall still though, thumbs up from me. I'm sure they will improve as they go along, and its still great even now as it is.

Tonight's ep. was decently humorous, although the lead was at his most unlikeable here with dumb reasons for wanting to break up with his girlfriend.

As for how the show is going over with people, it's ratings are quite good so I'd say it's doing just fine and people are liking it or else it wouldn't get the ratings it is getting.

That was really cruel what the lead guy did to that girl. Get back together with her promising commitment, use her for sex for a few weeks then break up. Not a good idea if you want people to like your leading character. It might have worked on Seinfeld but this is a different kind of show I thought.

As most people said that this was their favorite episode, it was pretty far from sweet and charming and they really poured on the hate and jokes in this one.

Yeah tonight's episode was good. A bit better paced than usual too.

They seem to be getting better at this, which is good.

Pretty decent again, though my distaste for Halloween themed episodes still gets at me. Pretty good lines though, and NPH as a fighter pilot/Marshall as Jack was awesome.

Decent ep. but the Halloween theme didn't really work for me. It rendered much of the ep. repetitive although Harris was indeed funny.

Passable but still has the problem of the lead characters (Robin and Ted) being not very likeable.

Yep, I liked Ted a bit, but Robin was just such a sore thumb in this episode. Really unlikable by her here, though she'll rebound.

Watched most of How I met your Mother last night even though it was a rerun. A few things came to mind: 1) The show, before it premiered, made it appear as if it was going to be about the courtship of Robin and Ted, and then once it actually started and got past the first episode, turns out the series is not about that at all which kind of lessened my interest. 2) Hannigan is, to me, by far the most talented and interesting actor on the show, if she was the lead, or maybe playing the Robin character, the show would be doing better IMO 3) The supporting cast of Hannigan and her bf are more likeable than the leads, this creates a structural problem. One of the main functions of supporting characters is to be flawed in a way that makes the leads seem better, it's why most heroes in action movies have some fat goofy guy as a best friend, or why George and Kramer are such morons on Seinfeld, supporting characters on HIMYM should be eccentric and make the leads look better by comparison. The sleazy friend of Ted does that job alright but but Hannigan and her bf radiate such normalcy that they end up look like they should be the leads.
