Wow, thats something for Commander in Cheif. ABC seems unstoppable if even a show like that can get those type of numbers.

Fantastic for Commander in Chief. Rather disappointing start for The Amazing Race, if you ask me, since the last two seasons were getting ratings much higher than that.

Absolutely pathetic for Sex, Love and Secrets.

Edit: Just kidding about The Amazing Race, I just read it was only down 5% from the premiere of the previous season in households, which is solid considering what a cutthroat time slot it's in.

Dang those numbers for Commander in Chief is surprisingly huge. I thought the whole premise looked like crap and thought it would of bombed. In other news Earl dropped quite a bit from last weeks premiere and those low numbers for According to Jim will hopefully spell cancellation for the show soon. Boston Legal somehow managed pretty well on tuesday

I love the Alphabet, good to see Americans choosing smart drama. The Office was off considerably. UPN will regret moving 'Veronica Mars'.

Its official, kids shouldn't be on the Amazing Race.

Boston Legal still dropped almost 30% from Commander, which makes me wonder if this show would really be able to do that well if it didn't keep getting put on after stronger shows.

That 10 PM slot doesn't seem to be helping Boston Legal. Really strong debut for Commander-in-Chief. Ouch for The Office.

Great for Commander in Chief. I'd like this show to become succesful, Gena Davis deserves a good show like this. Law & Order: SVU is still going strong. I don't remember NCIS being this good last season. Sex, Love & Secrets is a dud.

Good to see Bones level off, after last week's drop. The first episode was okay, so I'm not sure if it's really good or not. Great for House.

I think that is a phemomenal opening episode for Commander In Chief. ABC's heavy promo really payed off. And what I sorta liked about alot of their ads was they didn't plug in Geena Davis' or Sutherland's face on all of em. Every bus ad just had the tag line.

Anyway... even if it drop a few million, I said before if it ends up with a steady 12-13 million average rating, it will be a hit in my eyes and big one too (considering).

Boston Legal, I agree is surviving alot on lead-ins. Nontheless, it was still a decent premiere. Let's just hope it stays above the 10-11m mark (in viewers). According to Jim really is getting ghastly ratings and I don't know why. It actually looks to me like one of the comedies that work; then again, I have never watched it. Tghey should find something stronger in that timeslot... what else si giving between Jim and Chief?

ABC won the night in viewers, but placed 4th in the important 18-49 demo, which makes you wonder... who exactly is watching Commander in Chief and Boston Legal... 50+ year olds?

Earl did drop quite a bit, so that's another dicouragement for NBC. They are destined for 4th place this season! Fox is pulling in consistent dramas and comedies this season and with American Idol will finally trump a major network hopefully by a noticeable margin!

So far ABC is on the plus side for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays! I think that's pretty good. If they keep up the ratings on those 4 nights all season though, they will have stablished alot of framework for continuing success. Then again, this si the last year they have Monday Night football right?

I was kinda hoping Commander in Chief would bomb so I wouldn't have another show to watch. I didn't watch last night's, but I might have to watch it in the coming weeks.

That's still good for My Name is Earl. Still sad for The Office, though. And I think The Office has been even better than Earl so far.

According to Jim is *finally* showing its age. About time, considering the show horrible the show has been for such a long time.

This talk of Boston Legals falloff being poor is utter tosh.

Greys Anatomy has a similar holding to Desperate Housewives audience, it fell 10 Million viewers from Housewives on Sunday It actually dropped more viewers than Boston show on show.

I Tivo'd Commander in Chief, and watched it after The Amazing Race went off, and I really liked it. Amazed that it did so big, though. Didn't expect it to take the top spot.

Thank heavens According to Jim is falling. This show should get the ratings that Arrested Development has been suffering with.

Actually, before Grey's Anatomy came on the post-Housewives slot was occupied by Boston Legal! And it usually dropped to around 13 million or so after Housewives. Grey's Anatomy is holding onto 19+ million viewers a week, much more impressive than Legal!

I'm not going to argue that Grey's Anatomy is a solid hit on its own though. If it wasn't for Housewives, I agree, it too would drop considerably. But if Boston Legal and Anatomy went head to head in the same timeslot (ignoring that they're on the same network) I'm pretty sure Grey would get at least around 3-4 million more viewers!

Really good ratings for CiC considering it looked like utter crap. I just might have to watch the premiere when it's reaired on Saturday night. Also worth noting is how well "House" continues to do considering all the competition. "Bones" will definitely benefit come January when it's put in the post "American Idol" timeslot (similar to what Fox did with "House" last season).

ABC is really flourishing with Commander in Chief, Lost, Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and the Monday lineup isn't doing too bad. It'd be nice to see Alias make a difference on Thursday.

So, Raffiki - if Boston Legal fell to 13 Million viewers post housewives [23-25m an episode] isnt it way more impressive that its have 12.5m in a post 16.5m rated show?

wtf, why do all great comedys have shitty ratings. Looked like MNIE/The Office due would break that trend, but no. It's just not right.

My Name is Earl is still doing better than most NBC shows, especially the crap Thursday comedies. It's their highest rated comedy, so if anything gets axed, it won't be Earl. But, I really have no idea where NBC plans on going in the line of comedies. Will and Grace is in its final season, The Office is far from benefitting from it's solid lead-in, Joey is doing horribly on Thursday, and Scrubs won't be back till mid-season, where it likely will replace The Office. I doubt it will do much better.

All this talk of Joey getting canned this year is ridiculous. If they lose Will and Grace, Joey, and The Office (assuming NBC yanks the plug in favor of Scrubs) this season, that leaves My Name is Earl and Scrubs, should both shows warrant a slot on the 2006 fall schedule. Two returning comedies ain't much, and I don't think any of their mid-season replacements will make much of a dent, either. They'll need SOMETHING, and I think Joey will survive another season at least. Or, NBC could just switch to an all-drama network, or something.

The problem with dramas is that, from a financial standpoint, they almost always cost more than sitcoms/single camera comedies. Plus, it's not like NBC's new dramas are faring all that well with "Surface" garnering middling ratings at best, "E-Ring" TBD, and "The West Wing" and "ER" faltering. To put it bluntly, NBC is in shambles.

Oh schnap. I heard that some places did not show The Office last night due to it's "explict" content. Maybe that would explain the harsh drop.

Seeems like ABc won't be too sad if Alias fails, they already have their fair share of hits this season.
