I'm not reading anything, thankfully. I don't have English until next semester. Why would I read now? Because I enjoy it?
Please.

I read all those books. The R.A. Salvatore books were better. The Dark Tower had its moments but I thought it never reached the heights of the first 2 books towards the end.
Right now im reading The Vanishing Voter by Thomas Patterson (for class) and for personel im reading Gentleman Revolutionary: Gouverneur Morris: The Rake who wrote the Constitution by Richard Brookhiser.

It is a really emotional read, reading about missed chances and how poorly the government agencies work together makes you mad, and reaidng about the day and what actually ahppens makes you both mad and really depressed.
I highly recommend you all read it.

No there aren't personal stories about the vitims and their families, but I just finished readin gthe account of what happened when the planes hit and during the collapse and you can directly see how unprepared we were and how it lead topeople dying. It is quite harrowing to read.

I just read that last month for English. Everyone in my English class hated it. It wasn't even for logical things. IT was for stupid things. I wanted to hurt them. At least my friend had some real reason for disliking it. ::smacks head into a wall::
Right now, I'm reading The Horse and his Boy of The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I should finish tomorrow, I have like four tests in school.

I'm ashamed to say I hated it. I didn't really see what the big deal was... I'm all for reading but this was just boring.
I'm reading The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, this has been sitting in my closet for 2 years but I need it for a book report.

Don't get me started on Great Expectations. That book is the only reason my summer of '03 sucked, yo.

Great Expectations is certainly nowhere near the likes of The Great Gatsby, The Scarlet Letter (other 'school' books) in terms of characterization, theme, etc., but it's certainly got one of the most best woven plots I've ever read. I liked it a lot.

Great Expectations is worthy of skimming for its historical value, and is still very much used to today in research I guess. But why the hell they make 15 year olds sit through the entire thing is beyond me. It was written as a newspaper series and he was paid by the word. That's right...paid...by...the...word. Notice how long it drags out? Then, in the last three chapters its like WTF how did that much just happen? Its like the editors told him, "OK Charlie, you got one week to wrap it up now, we're losing reader's interest." The only thing I liked about it was the old cobweb encrusted wedding room Havisham kept locked up.

I'm reading Digital Fortress now. And I'm planning to buy Michael Crichton's latest, State of Fear, in a few weeks when it comes out.
