Kingsley's performance was superb and he certainly deserved his Oscar. It also was the best thing about the whole movie. The movie itself is decent, but way too overlong and while it delivers a right message, it takes too long to do so and from time to time it's just a bit too obvious about its intentions.

Very, very obvious and pretentious. A solid biopic that worked because of Ben Kingsley. I didn't mind it winning a lot of Oscars, but Best Costume Design was just very baffling.

A little dragging, but decent. Ben Kingsley was excellent, though. B

Blech, this film is as full of itself as Ghandi is emaciated. Whatever greatness is possesses, it receives from the legacy of the man at its centre. Else, it is mediocre, and this, given the fact that it is meant to reflect Ghandi, who demands greatness, means that it fails, which it does.

Notorious. That's a great film. And Charade. That's a very good film.
