Re: 21st WOKJ Movie Awards Nomination Ceremony (2024)
Ok maybe a few of them weren't so obvious but I did try to foreshadow it lol. Love Lies Bleeding wasn't even the last one in crazy enough, it had a bit of a cushion. And neither were Strange Darling or Flow to my delight, both comfortably in.
A Complete Unknown was 1 point out. Twisters missed by 2. My Old Ass missed by 3. Inside Out 2 and Hit Man missed by 5.

I'll put up the winners voting thread tomorrow.
Thanks for everyone that followed along! And also a big thanks to all the voters. I know its a long ass ballot that is very time consuming, but I always say every point helps and this year proved it more than any!

Biggest Breakthrough
Coralie Farget, Direction - The Substance Willa Fitzgerald, Acting - Strange Darling Mikey Madison, Acting - Anora Cailee Spaeny, Acting - Civil War Maisy Stella, Acting - My Old Ass
Voting was all over the place here but at least we got to 5 lol. I voted for 3 of those, so I'm satisfied.

Flow How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies Humanist Vampire Seeking Consensual Suicidal Human I'm Still Here
Some funny titles here. I wasn't the only person who saw Humanist Vampire? I LOVED that one! I saw it at a film festival last April. Highly recommended. I'm shocked it got in here, but I definitely nominated it. I would have nominated it for Horror as well but figured nobody had seen it. It wouldn't have stood a chance getting in there anyway. Anyway, watch it before voting please!

He felt so insignificant till like the very end of the film. Weird, I initially perceived him as a character of considerable importance right from the outset. It seemed evident that he was destined to have a more substantial role in the unfolding narrative. In hindsight, I believe a film centered around his character would have been more compelling than what we got.

Don't love it all, still didn't see a bunch actually too, but definitely better nominees than the Oscars.
