The 20th anniversary of KJ is coming up in the fall. As hard as it is to believe, the prime of this place really was a long time ago. I would argue film message boards peaked 2005-2008 from SITH to THE DARK KNIGHT and dropped off from there. We all owe Zwackerm a drink for the energy his arrival injected into this site.

I sincerely hope all of the old, long-ago regular posters are simply so happy with their lives that they haven't thought of this place years.

I’ve been on here a decade now lol. I was a sophomore in high school now I’m almost 26.

Everyone is in a different place now for sure. I’m just glad there are enough holdouts to keep this corpse’s heart beating. It is nice to have one last refuge from the old days before the internet went dark.

eh forums are something that have largely gone in a growth sense, if people want niche communities they go to discord now, if they want general chat they have twitter or bluesky, and if they want to be general trolls like darling guybrush, well they are the masters of their own domain.

Me personally, i enjoyed this place when i was in that stage in my life, made some great friends and then moved on. but this was a great forum, no shame in it not being a great forum forever.

Some of these long, long time vets that seem to post regularly and disappear randomly....I certainly hope they are OK.

Corpse was gone a few months last year, then came back and made a long post in Japan box office thread about how it felt like work. Them after a few weeks, he said he was going to start updating Japan thread and then disappeared again for good. So I PM’d him a few weeks ago (it was read) suggesting if he comes back to just make some politics/wrestling/video games posts every once in a while or something instead of trying to update the Japan thread.
