Re: Japan Box-Office: Weekend Actuals (02/13-14); Charts Upd
An arena fighting game is pretty much the easy, go-to option for anime games, so no surprise there. It's clear from the gameplay that it's going to be very similar to the Naruto Ninja Storm series of games (same developer after all). The graphics and art-style look excellent, especially the character models/designs.
Any sort of open world or adventure-style of gameplay is typically barebone and very lackluster, so probably for the best they went the expected route with the arena fighter. I played some of CyberConnect2's last game, Kakarot, and all the exploring was largely still linear and empty with some clunky controls and camera work. I wouldn't say it was bad, just very basic.
If it's close to the latter Ninja Storm games, it'll at least be a good, solid fighter.
The only thing I see as a negative is that this game could have a small roster since it may need to exclude a lot of characters since the anime isn't very far along. Unless it comes out around the time of Season 2, or after, I think they can only really include 3 of the Hashira (Kocho, Giyu, and Rengoku) for instance, and likely just one of the upper-rank demons (Akaza), to avoid any spoilers. Of course, there's always DLC (which anime games like this always get a ton of...) after Season 2 of the anime airs/ends, but sort of an annoying decision they'll likely make.

It seems Mugen Train will be at 38B yens within 2 weeks with that great hold of entries. Wondering if the season 2 announcement will have an impact.
About the video-game it'd be a good fighting game but I feel disappointed because it looks like a zero risks game even it looks great. Hope the story-part game will comes with some good and creative stuffs. Right now, to me, this game won't be a records breaker... But yup, Animal Crossing already did it. xD

Does any other mangaka is in the Time or whatever that is? I mean, there's gotta be Oda, Kishimoto, and Toriyama at the very least. Can be on a different category as Gotouge but I assume they're also there.

Gotouge is the first.
P.S. Gotouge also became the first crocodile to make the list.

It is such a feast for Gotouge: 150 million copies in circulation, upcoming season 2, and now this prestigious worldwide acknowledgement.
Instead of congratulating the author, KNY official account sells favored salt and advertises new merchandise now . They did not even announce the new milestone of copy in circulation 2 days ago, so fans needed to get the news from outsiders' sources. I wonder if the staff has any sense to what they are doing.

I'm wondering if you can count Hayao Miyazaki as mangaka, because he was featured in the 2005 TIME 100. He did create manga, but his directional films are much bigger successful.

So? I think the twitter account is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. I can't even imagine how much merchandising they have sold. This includes merchandise from ufotable's own store which they regularly advertise on the main twitter meaning ufotable greatly profits from this, which is excellent. Compare this to for example the Jujutsu Kaisen twitter, which is actually separated between manga and anime, and the manga twitter only tweets every couple of days about some stickers and "Hey look new episode is airing". The anime twitter is slightly better, but not much.
Kimetsu is doing a really good job with the marketing. We probably have the producer Yuma Takahashi from Aniplex to thank for it. There are constantly new collabarations with practically everything. New merchandise is being released regularly by ufotable. Deals are being brokered like the TV rebroadcasts and so much more. Ufotable also operates its own cafes, restaurants and a cinema.

Mamoru Hosoda new film has male furry character again! (Or as someone with broken japanese language like me like to call "otoko kemono"). Belle is likely his take on Beauty and the Beast. The only film that doesn't have any furry character is the Girl who Leapt Through Time. And all of his films have won Japan Academy Prize in Best Animation category since it has that category.

Belle looks very good from the first trailer.
It's basically going to be 'Beauty and the Digital Beast' it seems, but Hosoda's style is all over the short trailer. I was a little indifferent towards his last film, Mirai, but really enjoyed all his previous films, especially Summer Wars and Wolf Children.
Here's the trailer for those who haven't seen it yet:

Yeah. It's going to be hanging around well into the spring and likely early part of the summer.
Sorry for not getting to the Weekend Forecast again this weekend. I've been busy trying to deter skunks from visiting my property lately.

Indeed. Shaping up to be the fourth or fifth straight week (and weekend) of great/excellent holds for most films.
And Liar x Liar (Asmik Ace) looks like it may dethrone Loved Like A Flower Bouquet, depending on what happens on Sunday. The former should debut above ¥150 million, maybe even approach ¥200 million depending on tomorrow. And the latter's fourth weekend is going to be very close to its opening weekend. It could very well make a run at In This Corner of the World to become Tokyo Theaters, Co.'s highest grossing film.
