Finally Labor Day Weekend will be tested
With Paramount scheduling A QUIET PLACE II on Labor Day Weekend, we will finally see if this weekend is really the graveyard the industry thinks it is, or another opportunity to open blockbusters...
If the latter happens, it will be the only good thing happening to the movie business because of Corona...

They also put Spongebob at July. Hopefully things are ok by then so WW1984 WW1984 actually makes that August date..

I think it is foolish to assign any release dates right now, but I guess there won't be much of a penalty for needing the move them again.

I thought the Quiet Place spot was an April Fools joke.
It really doesn't matter at this point. Bond was the only one that really made the right move by going back to November. Everything else is just going to have to wait.

This is really exciting seeing a big movie scheduled for Labor Day weekend. I hope it sticks and that it does awesome. Maybe then in the future we won't get scraps that weekend.

Re: Finally Labor Day Weekend will be tested
Well, Labor Day is traditionally a bad weekend for movies because it’s seen as the last time you can travel in summer weather. That won’t be a problem this year.

Eh anything that's released this year on these dates won't make much impact. The whole industry is skewed after it reopens

I'd like to see it happen but it probably wont at this stage.
The biggest Labour Day weekend Opener is still 2007's Halloween.
I do recall there were rumours that War of the Worlds was opening Labour Day weekend in 2005 - it may have been scheduled as such at one point but obviously it was never happening.
