Post TV/Streaming Shows Of 2019
Finished my first one:

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt final season. It hurts a little to write that since I do not want it to go away. It is the funniest show we've had in this era. Also possibly a top five all-time sitcom but we will wait for the movie before a proper ranking.

Spoiler: show
And I love that they found a way for every character to get what they want without sacrificing who they were. Sounds corny but it all came together so well in the last episode.

The best shows of the year so far are "The Other Two" and "Russian Doll."

Almost done with "PEN15" on Hulu which is also pretty brilliant too.

"PEN15" is iconic.

The last two episodes are just absolutely amazing.

Another great looking programme I won't have time to watch until 2020.

Man that looks fantastic. I was already sold with Kevin Bacon, but the fact that its set in Boston and during the early 90's gets me even more excited. Also, I love the fact that Johnathan Tucker just randomly shows up in almost every tv show nowadays. The dude is seriously starting to become another one of my favorite character actors right now.

This also looks good. Not great, but I think it can be enjoyable. Looks like the sort of show that if it were a movie it would suuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Also: not the best overlay image they could have chose!

Yeah that does look pretty good, but I don't know if I'd be in a rush to watch it. I know its a tv show, but a lot of the CGI didn't look very good at all. I am definitely interested though, especially because of the awesome combination of Sheen and Tennant. Jon Hamm is a great addition too, and after scanning the cast list on IMDB it looks like there are going to be even more big names in this, but I guess they didn't want to show them and spoil the surprise.

Poor CGI matters to your TV choices? I couldn't give a toss. TV has always been the lesser medium, so I never hold it up to the same quality level as film.

I’m highly anticipating the What We Do In The Shadows show and obviously the His Dark Materials show.

And along with Game of Thrones, Barry and Veep return to HBO the next month.

I just finished the first season not that long ago and for the most part I thought it was fantastic, so now I'm definitely looking forward to Season 2. I'm also curious about the What We Do In The Shadows show as well even though Taika and Clement aren't involved which is kind of unfortunate.

Netflix's new Ricky Gervais programme, After Life, is good. Some hilarious moments and it's a bit of a tearjerker too. It doesn't all land well but for the most part it's another accomplishment for Gervais. The flashbacks (featuring Godliman) are annoying, and the arc resolution final episode is a bit much. But when he's going around confronting those smaller everyday issues (such as the postman played by Joe Wilkinson, or ordering two kids meals in the local cafe) or when he's sarcastically responding to people that want to be in the local newspaper, it is gold. And I dug that each episode ends with a song.

Umbrella Academy had a very up and down first season. Meaning that for every great scene or idea there was a cringeworthy one to match it.

Spoiler: show
Vanya going Dark Phoenix over some weird dick was frustrating. He barely masked his alternative agenda from the moment they met. It was a cool twist to have him be one of the 43, and I hope they expand on that in season 2 when he is presumably alive again.

There is so much content out there (I often forget I have Amazon Prime) and I rely on word of mouth to determine what to watch next. I wish there was a better way to sift through the noise and tell me what’s good and what’s not.

Take it one pilot at a time. If you don’t like it then quit. There’s no time for shows that aren’t good right away anymore.

Episode 1 = pilot :P

The new season feels like classic Arrested, I have laughed a lot more than the first half of season 1. It has some strangely terrible ADR though. I guess reshoots weren’t an option, but it looks like they replaced about half of the dialogue and we are watching a movie dubbed from a foreign language.

What We Do In The Shadows is so much damn fun. I'm very glad it got renewed for a second season because I really wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did, but man once it got to episode 7 I was fully on board. That episode and Barry Season 2 episode 5 might be some of the best television I have seen all year.

Has anybody here seen the new Nicolas Winding Refn show Too Old to Die Young? I'm curious what some here would think of it, although it's definitely something that won't be for everybody. I enjoyed it myself, but it's really slow and I don't think the conclusion was nearly as satisfying as it could have been. Still I just love Refn's style, and you can definitely tell it's his creation from the random outbursts of extreme, gory violence to a exceptionally well shot car chase that felt like it was ripped right out of Drive. There is even some really interesting attempts at political/social commentary in this show that I wasn't expecting at all, but it works in the context of the show's dark sense of humor which their is plenty of, and to the point where I can honestly see some people probably being quite disturbed by it, especially if pedophilia jokes isn't your type of humor.

The huge twist in episode 9 was really well executed and surprising, lost some steam in the finale but still a fun show
