I check IMDb occasionally for this very reason. Can’t wait!

Excited! It'll probably start shooting soon so I'm excited to see who's gonna be in it.

Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Dunkirk I am always looking forward to what he is going to bring us, and I also love the element of surprise with his more original projects.

How long they been in preproduction? Not long enough to be a special effects heavy film if they haven’t started filming yet I’m thinking. Maybe he’s doing a rom-com lol

I'm guessing Michael Caine will be one of them.

After spending 10 years making Dunkirk, Interstellar, TDKR, Inception and TDK he is due to make a movie that scales it back like Memento and The Prestige

Post Re: Nolan Returns July 2020
About time :shades:.

Early predictions:

At least;
188M domestic
337M international
525M WW

This is the floor. About what Dunkirk made. The ceiling is too unknown. I am very confident this will do better than Dunkirk. I'm thinking at least Interstellar WW numbers, could go higher depending on the story.

WB is calling this an "event film". Dunkirk was also marketed as an event film. Nolan obviously isn't going to make two experimental WW2 films in a row. So therefore, logically whatever this film is about is surely going to be more interesting than Dunkirk. Also to consider is this will be released 3 years after Dunkirk. That's a bigger than usual gap for Nolan between films. In fact, we haven't seen a gap this big in his career between films since the gap between Insomnia and Batman Begins, which was about 3 years. So if I had to guess...I think this is going to be a huge, major 4 quadrant blockbuster with broad appeal. Could be something very surprising, or could be along the lines of what we expect from Nolan. I also think Nolan spent a long time working on the script, which would mean it's a big script with an ambitious and complex story. Nolan did say while doing Dunkirk interviews in 2017 that his next film would go back to more exposition and a more beefy script after the 'experimental' nature of the Dunkirk script. Additionally, I think they've been doing pre-production prep in top secret fashion. They are likely to start filming in the next few months.

Onwards we go!

Nolan still getting some Honeymoon love. I really hope he scales it back to Insomnia, Prestige, Memento levels. The twists work so much better there.

This is being billed as an IMAX event and they gave it the same late July release date as TDK/Inception/TDKR/Dunkirk. It's gonna be another large scale movie. I think he is going to keep doing them until the studio tells him he can't do it anymore. As long as he keeps making a good profit for them, they will keep letting him do the risky big budget original stuff.

These days with so much CGI and pre-sold franchise crap all over the place, Nolan is the only big budget brand that I really look forward to seeing...maybe James Bond and Mission: Impossible would be a couple other examples. They use less CGI than the others and feel more like real movies instead of video games or cartoons. Nolan's use of IMAX cameras is always a good time as well. Dunkirk on a 60+ foot tall IMAX screen was a pretty jawdropping experience.

The North by Northwest/Inception rumour has been denied, which makes sense because it's hard to do a romance with a dead wife/girlfriend

Glad it’s (apparently) not a remake of Memento which had been rumored

So this is now known by the title "Tenet" and will be a global espionage action epic.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat- ... le-1212931

Quote:
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh and Michael Caine have joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, Warner Bros. said Wednesday.

Dimple Kapadia and Clémence Poésy, the French actress who may be best known to American audiences for playing Fleur Delacour in the Harry Potter movies, have also joined the production, whose title has been revealed as Tenet.

John David Washington is leading the international cast that also includes Robert Pattinson and Elizabeth Debicki. Tenet is described as an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage.

Tenet is being filmed in seven countries, using a mix of Imax and 70mm film.

Nolan understands the importance of one-word titles, and this is a good one!
